Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Electrical Technician to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA!

This a daylight shift with core hours from 6 am - 4:30 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory.

The hourly range for this position is $16.50 - $23.00 per hour.

What you'll do:

The Electrical Technician assists in the installation of conduit and electrical components into buildings. They use basic math skills, read blueprints, and solve problems. They work under moderate supervision, complete semi-complex tasks, and assist other teammates in mid-level work for development and training. You will use battery saws and drills, conduit bender, wire brush, Klein crimper, utility knife, ladder, nut drivers, channel locks, pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, wrenches, and diagonal cutters.

In this role, you will:
• Bend and cut various conduit per blueprint specification using appropriate tools.
• Mount electrical boxes, fixtures, and enclosures.
• Stock and set up electrical wire carts.
• Pull wire through conduit and make ground connections.
• Read blueprints to determine placement of wire.
• Install and cover receptacles and switches.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by crew leader or supervisor.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous electrical experience such as bending conduit, wire pulling, mounting electrical boxes or enclosures.
• Experience reading blueprints and using hand and power tools.

Skills:

• Basic shop math skills and the ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.
• Must possess a strong, verifiable track record of attendance and punctuality
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of trade secrets.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to wear PPE such as protective eyewear, hearing protection, and steel toes boots with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs., work from a ladder including ascending and descending, stand for long periods of time, bend, crouch, use manual dexterity to grasp and manipulate objects with precise small movements with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
