Design Engineer Intern
Eaton's IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Design Engineer Intern.
The hourly rate for this position is $20.77 - $34.62 per hour.

What you'll do:
Job Summary
As a Design Engineer Intern at Eaton's Mission Systems Division you'll be a member and active contributor of a Product Development Team. In this role you'll have the opportunity to utilize skills and theory learned in the classroom and apply them to real-world problems in the Aerospace Industry.
Job Responsibilities
• Apply fundamental mechanical or electrical principals and physics to designs.
• Complete basic engineering investigations and tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.
• Participate as a team member, help define/refine methods, and actively contribute towards team goals.
• Follow technical documentation requirements and engineering processes.
• Execute design, analysis, and testing/test setup tasks based on direction from Senior Engineers.
• Help the team progress through the current Design Phase of an active project (Development or Qualification).
• Participate in daily project team meetings and provide update on assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
Education level required
• Must be enrolled and must be at least a Junior in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or BS Engineering Technology.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round).
Technical knowledge
• Understanding of electrical and lab safety.
Mechanical Applicants:
• Understanding of basic mechanical and dynamic principles.
• Experience with 3-D modeling software.
• Ability to read a technical drawing.
Electrical Applicants:
• Basic circuit understanding (i.e voltage divider, pull up resistor, diode).
• Breadboarding or soldering for circuit construction.
• Laboratory equipment usage (DVM, Oscilloscope, power supplies).
• Ability to read electrical schematic.
Skills:
Soft skills
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to Senior Engineers.
• Collaboration: The ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams.
• Intellectual Curiosity: A genuine passion for exploration, learning, and pushing the boundaries of current knowledge."
Additional Information:
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must either be (A) a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, (B) eligible to access the export controlled information without a required export authorization, or (C) eligible and reasonably likely to obtain the required export authorization from the applicable U.S. government agency.
