Customer Project Manager (Order Manager) - (m/w/d)

What you'll do:

Lead and coordinate customer Low Voltage System Assembly (LVSA) projects from purchase order to final delivery, ensuring on-time execution, clear customer communication, and effective alignment across engineering, procurement, production, testing, and logistics.

LVSA Project Ownership & Execution
• Own assigned customer projects from PO receipt to shipment / handover
• Create and maintain project plans, milestones, and priorities
• Monitor progress across all phases (engineering, material readiness, production, FAT, delivery)
• Ensure customer commitments are met regarding timing, scope, and quality

Customer Interface & Communication
• Act as the primary contact for customers and Front-end team during project execution
• Coordinate technical clarifications, schedule updates, and status reporting
• Manage customer meetings, progress calls, and escalation topics
• Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication

• Coordinate internal functions to ensure smooth execution: Post-Order Engineering, Project Buyer / Supply Chain, Work Preparation, Production / Assembly, Test / FAT and Logistics
• Drive timely decisions and remove blockers

Schedule & Milestone Management
• Manage key project milestones (M0-M10), including Project Hand-over and Kick-off, IFC release, Material readiness, Start of assembly, FAT and Shipment
• Identify risks early and implement mitigation and recovery actions

Change Management
• Lead customer change management process, coordinate customer changes, deviations, and engineering change requests
• Assess impact on cost, lead time, and scope together with relevant functions
• Ensure approved changes are implemented and communicated clearly

Commercial & Cost Awareness
• Monitor project scope vs order confirmation
• Drive management of variation orders / additional costs where applicable
• Escalate commercial risks or scope gaps

Quality & Delivery Focus
• Support FAT planning and customer attendance
• Ensure documentation package is ready for delivery
• Drive issue resolution to protect on-time delivery and customer satisfaction

Reporting & Governance
• Maintain accurate project tracker and status reporting
• Present project status, risks, and actions in internal reviews
• Lead lessons learned after project completion

Qualifications and skills:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years in project management, order management, or customer project execution
  • Experience in manufacturing / engineered-to-order products preferred
  • Experience with electrical equipment / switchgear / industrial projects is a strong advantage
  • Good German and excellent English skills
  • Understanding of project lifecycle in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read technical drawings / understand engineering topics (advantage)
  • Strong planning and coordination capability
  • Familiarity with ERP (SAP)/ project tracking tools / Excel
  • Strong customer communication skills

What we offer:

  • A performance-oriented and attractive remuneration, depending on education, qualifications, and professional experience, of approximately EUR 65,000 gross per year, paid in 14 monthly instalments (overpayment above this amount is possible depending on qualifications and experience).
