Country Construction Manager - Data Center Projects
As Country Construction Manager for Data Center Projects you will build and organize capacity, manage experience to deliver local projects backlog as per EMEA standardized processes and tools. You will handle end to end Financial performance management and forecast of project portfolio assigned to the team.
Also responsible for internal and external stakeholders management on different phases of project backlog execution is also a key success factor in the position.
Critical to the mission is to ensure all safety (EHS) and quality requirements are met. This person is a positive advocate for Eaton's Zero Incident Safety Culture whilst applying standard work practices and processes. To lead and oversee local (country) construction projects including site installation and commissioning activities, ensuring operational excellence, resource alignment, and stakeholder coordination across multiple projects.
For this role we are seeking an individual who will be based in Gavle (Sweden), has a good technical understanding of UPS, LV & MV switchgear and in depth knowledge of the installation and commissioning processes for large hyperscale datacentre projects.
What you'll do:
As Country Construction Manager for Data Center Projects you will lead an organization of Site Managers and Site Coordinators, UPS and Medium Voltage Technicians based in Gavle, Sweden - also you will cooperate with other Project Managers based in EMEA region. Besides ensuring the operational quality, organizational development and financial performance, one of the key focus of your role will be to manage senior client and customer representatives related to hyperscale and other data center projects. Operational Oversight:
- Manage a portofolio of projects including installation and commissioning activities.
- Ensure Health and Safety, Environmental processes are deployed by the Site Team and ensure Procedures, Risk assessments and Method Statements are aligned.
- Lead project and construction site installation & commissioning teams to ensure delivery of the projects.
- Streamline our operations and provide clear direction and ownership to the team.
- Manage relationship with local customer teams and General Contractors. Ensure proper alignment during escalations.
- Support and build capacity to execute project including partnership with 3rd party companies.
- Lead project reviews process locally to ensure periodical check of project finance performance, resources plan and customer satisfaction.
- Report-out order backlog reviews to consolidate local project backlog performance ststus/actions and report-out financial forecast.
- Secure Project services P&L targets.
- Fasilitate Lessons Learned and cultivate continous improvement.
Managerial Leadership:
- Provide unambiguous direction, ensure alignment among all stakeholders, and assume full responsibility for all services resources.
- Cultivate a cohesive 'one team' environment that fosters teamwork and enables us to achieve our customer and business objectives.
- Support new team members during the onboarding process.
- Empower site managers and project managers by entrusting them with the management of site resources.
- Possess full authority to make decisions pertaining to resources, roles, and responsibilities.
- Manage numerous stakeholders and keeping them informed of critical and high-level decisions.
- Complete transparency and open communication to Services BU leadership team.
Resource Coordination
- Overarching coordination of resources, including FSE planning and sub-contractor selection.
- Carefully balance all resources fairly across the multiple projects taking the appropriate decisions to meet client deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors' Degree or Masters' Degree in Electrical Engineering or related studies.
- Extensive experience managing End to End complex international construction projects for customers, ideally specialized to Data Center, Energy and Utilities domain.
- Knoweldgeable in power distribution, UPS, medium voltage installation and commissioning.
- Strong leadership experience: building and managing engineering division, change management, organizational development, project financial planning and forecasting.
- Track record in Health and Safety and Quality Management on contruction site.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring, cabling documents.
- Able to work and travel within the European Union without any restrictions
- Excellent communication skills, business fluency in English is a must, other European language knowledge is welcomed.
- Driving license and flexibility with business traveling.
- Knowledge and experrience with MS Office and MS project.
