As a Country Accounting and Controller Specialist Hungary will provide comprehensive support for all Hungary entities/ledgers -related matters within the zone. This role will strongly focus on compliance, the standardization of financial processes, and will act as the first level of escalation for controllership matters while collaborating closely with GFA, COE, FP&A, and regional finance teams.
In addition to core controllership responsibilities, the role requires solid experience in FP&A activities, Hungarian accounting and statutory requirements, and active participation in cross-functional projects.
What you'll do:
- Provide oversight and supervision of all Hungarian ledgers, building a deep understanding of all accounts and acting as the primary point of contact for all related matters.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all fillings in scope, including statutory and regulatory submissions (e.g., statistical reporting to government bodies, banking authorities, and local compliance obligations not covered by other departments).
- Serve as the first point of escalation for issues related to eInvoicing, tax inquiries, special projects, supply chain matters, and PTP process issues.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment with full adherence to Eaton Policies, US GAAP, SOX, and local statutory/tax requirements.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A teams, providing financial insights, supporting budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and contributing to strategic financial decision-making.
- Utilize strong knowledge of Hungarian accounting to support local entities and ensure correct legislative application.
- Partner with business leaders and the wider finance organization to support strategic initiatives across the region.
- Work closely with COEs (Statutory, Tax, Payroll) to execute business strategies and enhance financial and business acumen.
- Actively participate in and support strategic regional projects, including tax initiatives, restructuring, payroll transitions, system implementations, treasury initiatives, and various ad-hoc projects.
- Drive financial process optimization through standardization, simplification, and automation, working collaboratively with Controllership and COE teams to establish the most efficient operational model.
- Support accounting, business process improvements, and finance transitions.
- Assist with statutory, tax, customs, and internal audits, ensuring full compliance and timely resolution of issues.
- Support month-end close activities and monthly account reconciliation processes.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, or FP&A, ideally within a multinational environment.
- Strong understanding of Hungarian accounting standards (local GAAP), as well as exposure to US GAAP and SOX requirements.
- Demonstrated experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis (FP&A-related activities).
- Proven track record of participating in cross-functional financial or system projects, process improvement initiatives, or transformation programs
Skills:
- Fluent business English; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Solid experience in finance/accounting within a multinational or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to independently manage responsibilities, prioritize, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable operating in a complex, dynamic, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, connect financial insights to business outcomes, and support decision-making.
- Collaborative and proactive approach in partnering with Controlling, FP&A, COE teams, and business stakeholders.
