Continuous Improvement Engineer
Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer.
Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
What you'll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
- Lead the execution and deployment of Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS), lead teams according to the business needs. Coordinate and Lead RIE's events and other quick kaizen tools.
- Supports the team thru the Operation Assessment (OpA) and other assessments as required.
- Lead CI changes need to improve plant key metrics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Support ECIS strategy deployment as daily management, Tiers meeting, LSW using CIF framework.
B. Collaborate to the EBS Pull with functional managers.
C. Facilitate Continuous Improvement projects, cost reduction and improvements in process performance.
D. Identify, lead, track and deliver productivity improvements and reduction in Cost Out.
E. Develop process maps and VSM and maintain, together with Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineers, the continuous improvement plans for the production areas.
F. Owns plant Lay out and responsible to keep it updated with all kaizen or changes performed to the plant lay out.
G. Support the Safety, MESH Initiatives, Zero accident culture and Eaton quality System,
H. Must ensure that the objectives of the occupational safety, health, and environment system are compatible with the business strategy.
I. Apply effective controls, ensuring that process improvements are sustained.
J. Follow up actions plans derived from ECIS, OPA assessments and EBS Pull
K. Adhere to and comply with all ISO 14001/45001/EHS (MESH)
L. Develop, lead, and promote a culture in the organization that supports the expected results in the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental system (MESH).
M. Protect the employees due to reporting incidents, hazards, risk and opportunities.
N. Ensure the integration of the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental system (MESH) requirements in the areas of their responsibility.
O. Maintain waste segregation culture.
P. Separate hazardous waste from the normal trash
Q. Place waste according to the assigned containers.
R. Maintain your area clean and free of contaminants.
S. Not waste of water or electricity.
T. Report any activity that can put in risk my safety and environment.
U. Identify and give adequate disposition to all chemical products, which can contaminate the environment.

V. Act/Report immediately any chemical discharge case.
W. Ensure the rights containers for disposition of hazardous waste (identifying containers and containers to prevent discharge)
X. Participate as a MESH champion, and support initiatives and objectives of this process.
Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
• Undergraduate degree required in Industrial Engineering (Preferred) or related engineering
• 5 years' experience in Continuous Improvement
• Solid and proven experience in lean manufacturing tools and six sigma methodologies.
• high-energy self-starter with a resilient and capable attitude.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Expert in MS Office /Excel, AutoCAD
• Project Management Skills

FUNTIONAL COMPETENCES
Zero Incident Workplace Culture. The ability to integrate technical skill sets required to identify and eliminate hazards associated with a manufacturing process and its supporting elements. Knowledge and experience in the process value stream, specifications, equipment, cycle time and capabilities. Competencies considered include, electrical circuit design, programmable controllers, safety interlock circuitry, lock out tag out, isolation of potential energy, ergonomics and material handling methods and procedures. Experience and knowledge with Hazardous Materials and Workplace Exposure including chemical use and storage, gases, noises, dust, fumes, vapors, and ventilation considerations. Engagement in efforts to influence 100% ownership of safety, accountability, and the sharing of knowledge to a continued focus of creating a zero incident workplace. Know how your roles, responsibilities and authority affects the performance of the ISO14001 and ISO45001 system.
Analytical / Statistical Tools & Methods is the knowledge of a wide range of problem solving tools & methods, including statistics, combined with the ability to select and apply them to make data based decisions to sustain higher levels of process or product quality
ELSS Leadership competency addresses: (a) facilitating development and deployment of enterprise-wide Eaton Lean/Six Sigma strategies, resulting in implementation plans with SMART goals that are linked to business strategy and profit plans; (b) developing and implementing effective training plans for all levels of the organization that help develop and sustain a continuous improvement culture, (c) serving as an ELSS deployment leader by coordinating and monitoring projects / implementation plans and driving accountability throughout the organization; and (d) effectively integrating Lean assessments and Transferable practices, within the organization as part of how they do business.
Lean Tools Competency includes: (a) the ability to identify applicable Lean tools in the given business environment and deploying them in an appropriate manner through training and Kaizen events; (b) the ability to see Lean tools as part of a continuous improvement system; (c) the ability to assess deployment of applicable Lean tools to identify and address gaps. Current Lean Tool set: Value Stream Mapping (VSM); Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Pull System; Standardized Work, 5S, TPM, Setup Reduction; and Error Proofing
Manufacturing and Business Process competency addresses the understanding of manufacturing / business processes, capabilities, limitations and process control requirements as well as business strategy (i.e., capital intensity, manufacturing footprint, and make versus buy decisions) and how manufacturing process decisions integrate and support the strategy.
Total Work System Knowledge competency addresses: (1) Understanding of the objective, approach and criteria of Eaton's Total Work System and its ELSS related elements / tools, covered within EBS and usually assessed by the EBEA process, (2) understanding of the parent organizations goals related to these EBS elements and their interactions with ELSS Deployment and outcome, (3) the ability to integrate the requirements of all these EBS elements / tools with the processes for deploying ELSS, reviewing progress and sustaining the benefits. EBS Elements / Tools closely related to ELSS: EQMS (Eaton Quality Management Systems), PROLaunch, EHS and MESH, EPWP, Materials Management, Strategic and Annual Plans, etc.
