Eaton's Distributed IT (DIT) Division is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team in Worcester, MA.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000 a year.

Responsible to drive purchasing practices for commodity management and applying strong knowledge to ensure products meet quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible costs. Identifies new suppliers, negotiates prices, analyzes trends, and expedites orders within functional area of responsibilities.

What you'll do:

  • Review MRP and place purchase orders - blanket and discreet.
  • Review shortages and expedite materials as needed communicate issues to appropriate parties.
  • Collaborate with vendors on pricing, scheduling of materials, and planning of future orders.
  • Perform cost savings analysis and volume planning.
  • Develop new sources in conjunction with Corporate Supply Chain.
  • Work in concert with Engineering and quality for changes and revisions of material.
  • Take correction actions on excess or obsolete material of orders.
  • Manage inventory levels of parts to meet plant's inventory goals.
  • Reconcile invoice discrepancies.
  • Apply changes in methods, materials, or systems as technology changes or products change.
  • React to changes in inventory levels based on trends and changes in product mix.
  • Resolve non-conformance issues with Third party or incoming material.

This role could be the next step in your career if you demonstrate the following experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years in manufacturing supply chain

You will set yourself apart by demonstrating some or all of the following:

  • CPIM or CPM certification
  • Experience in purchasing practices/contacting methods & strategies
  • Knowledge of manufacturing practices
  • Knowledge of MRP/material planning system
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications

  • Applies skillful negotiations with internal and external suppliers; problem solves and settles disputes; develops win-win resolutions, and creates positive relations with tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.
  • Identifies process improvement using analytic tools and data.
  • Drives process channel knowledge for acquiring materials and/or services to ensure delivery requirements for commodities and/or service customers.
  • Creates innovative approaches for utilizing and applying project management tools and techniques for procurement applications.
  • Prepares reports and other correspondence for use by Eaton SCM professionals.
  • Fosters an environment that promotes Safety, Eaton's goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement.
  • All duties assigned by management and deemed pertinent to the continued success of Company and employee objectives and/or goals.
