As a Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and finished electrical goods are available for our Distribution Centers and production plants. You will manage the end-to-end value stream from suppliers to our operations, maintain accurate inventory records, and support customer satisfaction through effective planning and execution.
In this role, you will report directly to the Buyer Team Leader and work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the supply chain.
We also welcome fresh graduates with relevant internship experience who are eager to develop their career in Supply Chain Management.
Your key responisbilities:
- Manage the flow of goods between suppliers, factories, Distribution Centers, and production plants
- Ensure material demands are met and supplier deliveries arrive on time
- Organize weekly/monthly calls with key vendors (Top 3-5)
- Maintain a clean and accurate open Purchase Order book
- Follow up on overdue, unconfirmed, or incorrect purchase orders and perform rescheduling (expedite, push out, cancel)
- Communicate supply changes to Customer Service, Order Management, and Production Planning
- Monitor and support achievement of supply chain KPIs (OTD, SFR, S-OTD, etc.)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams (Planners, OM, SCC, CM, OP, SP, Process Excellence)
- Maintain accurate purchasing data and master records in SAP (PIR, SL)
- Manage purchase orders and support system/process improvements with Senior Buyers and Inventory Specialists
- Allocate stock based on Order Management requests and act as the first escalation point for Customer Service
- Handle order confirmations from suppliers, including any deviations (price, quantity, dates)
- Release purchase orders blocked by system filters
- Investigate and resolve blocked invoices caused by price or quantity discrepancies
- Provide supply forecasts to vendors and assess potential impact on materials
- Track performance and implement continuous improvement actions
- Escalate incorrect MRP planning parameters to Inventory Specialists
- Identify and mitigate risks that impact supply chain KPIs
- Manage and resolve material shortages to Distribution Centers and production plants (end-to-end ownership)
- Participate in projects and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time material availability
- Respond to warehouse tickets and support resolution of inbound discrepancies
- Support Category Management with price, MOQ, consumption, and material analyses
- Assist with stock-takes and consignment inventory activities
- Create and maintain Purchasing Info Records (PIR) and Source Lists (SL) for internal and external suppliers
Qualifications:
- A-Level or comparable education; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field is an advantage
- 1 year internship or junior experience in Supply Chain / Customer Care / Order Management / Purchasing, fresh graduates welcome
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or P2P processes is an advantage
- SAP MM knowledge is beneficial, but not mandatory
Skills:
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Open, proactive, and cooperative personality
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to take ownership and responsibility
- Analytical mindset with ability to solve operational problems quickly
- Comfortable working with KPIs, data, and time-critical situations
- Ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams
