Business Planning Manager

Eaton's IS VEH VGGP division is currently seeking a Business Planning Manager. This is a full time, hybrid work opportunity based at our Southfield, MI campus.

The Business Planning Manager actively engages with leaders from Eaton's Mobility Group and Industrial Sector to manage content, messaging, and timing of deliverables to support various internal and external organizational reviews. Deliverables to Industry Sector leadership, investor relations and Eaton senior leadership include Strategic Planning presentations, New York analyst support material, Board of Director reviews and other related material that supports the overall needs of the business. Working directly with business unit directors, regional presidents, finance, functional leaders and the Mobility Group President, this position takes complex business metrics and strategies and synthesizes the information into easy-to-understand deliverables.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year.

What you'll do:

  • Support Eaton's Strategic Plan and Profit Plan with market insights, Total Addressable Market (TAM) estimation, end market growth forecast, product / market competitor metrics, market size by segment, region, and other market and business analysis requirements.
  • Create timelines and tracking documents (PDCA or similar), schedule meetings, manage & develop content and oversee final deliverables for numerous workstreams for Mobility Group business planning and related strategies.
  • Develop & maintain market & business overview material (market trends, business metrics & strategies, etc.). Compile summary of market and business performance metrics including key wins, competitive announcements, and peer financial performance.
  • Develop & maintain frequently asked questions repository, along with key messages and related
  • Mobility Group content to support leadership during internal and external engagements.
  • Budget management of market intelligence resources, including ensuring on-time billing.
  • Ownership of Mobility Group's overall strategic planning process (planning, documentation, scheduling meetings, providing training / best practices)

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in business planning, strategy, finance, engineering, sales and/or market analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel), visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and sales platforms (C360, Salesforce).
  • Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs (Microsoft Copilot, Researcher, etc.)
  • Well-read on a wide variety of automotive & commercial vehicle related subjects; should have the ability to interpret global trends (regulatory, geopolitical, macroeconomic, etc.) as they relate to Eaton's Mobility Group business
  • Knowledge of automotive and commercial powertrain systems, driveline components and alternative propulsion (hybrid & electric) technologies and trends

Skills:

  • Ability to leverage digital tools to develop comprehensive presentations that help drive impact analysis and decision making
  • Experience with market trends, customer expectations and economic analysis as provided by internal and external data sources
  • Experience in statistics, modeling & forecasting techniques is an added advantage. (i.e., regression, weighted modeling, etc.)
  • Experience working on projects with a global team across multiple time zones
  • Knowledge of automotive and commercial powertrain systems, driveline components and alternative propulsion (hybrid & electric) technologies and trends
  • Experience in vehicle design, testing, manufacturing, product management, product planning, and sales
