Business Development Manager - Nordics

What you'll do:

The Business Development Manager for Utilities is responsible for driving growth for medium voltage products by identifying and developing new business opportunities in the utilities sector. The role focuses on building strong customer relationships, creating tailored solutions, and collaborating across functions to achieve profitable market expansion in the Nordics and Baltics regions.

This person can be based anywhere in the Nordics and will travel approximately 40% of their time.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Proactively initiate and execute MVPD (Medium Voltage Power Distribution) business development activities within Utilities initiatives across Nordics and Baltics, targeting profitable growth.
  • Establish and maintain a strong framework of collaboration with Key Account teams and the broader Utilities sales ecosystem (Sales, Presales, Services, and other Business Units).
  • Drive knowledge enhancement within the Utilities sales ecosystem by identifying training needs, supporting learning initiatives, and sharing best practices across accounts.
  • Lead and coordinate effective product launches, ensuring alignment with market needs and internal capabilities.
  • Act as the Voice of the Customer in the New Product Development (NPD) ProLaunch process, providing critical feedback to product management.
  • Support and guide presales and sales teams in defining optimal product portfolios for specific accounts, including coaching on value propositions and strategic positioning.
  • Consolidate and analyze local market intelligence, including competitive landscape, pricing trends, and general market dynamics, and share insights with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and other Business Unit functions to ensure continuous market and customer engagement.
  • Own and manage the Utilities factory forecast, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals.
  • Co-create and implement a segment growth roadmap in partnership with Segment Teams, Country Sales Organizations, and Business Units.
  • Closely collaborate with the Tendering team and support the tendering process by offering system design assistance and application support.
  • Optimize customer designs through expert support in product selection, layout planning, competitive analysis, elevation drawings, and system configurations.
  • Organize and host designer and customer events to drive product specification and secure inclusion on Approved Vendor Lists (AVLs).
  • Contribute to marketing efforts, including the development of promotional materials, customer/channel communications, and participation in trade shows and conferences.
  • Provide management with key market data and insights to support strategic decision-making and identify new business opportunities.
  • Build and nurture new customer relationships while expanding existing ones to drive long-term business growth.
  • Monitor and analyze the competitive environment to strategically position Eaton and capture market share.
  • Maintain a robust project pipeline and conduct monthly reviews with Country Sales Organizations to ensure alignment and progress.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent knowledge. MBA is a plus.
  • Significant experience in sales, business development or other relevant role within Utilities industry.

Skills:

  • Has good understanding on requirements for electrical equipment in medium voltage applications and in Utilities.
  • Demonstrates at least basic knowledge on power electronics.
  • Ability to take initiatives and drive them autonomously, strongly customer-oriented.
  • Ability to think and act strategically.
