Associate Engineer - PCB Library
What you'll do:
"The primary responsibility of this role is to create, maintain and govern PCB libraries to ensure design accuracy, quality, and consistency across projects.
Provide reliable, standardized, and manufacturing-ready PCB components (symbols, footprints, and associated data) in accordance with IPC stadards that designers can use confidently without re-verification."
"• Follow IPC standards (e.g., IPC-7351) and internal design guidelines with guidance.
• Adhere to defined library creation checklists, QC processes, and approval workflows.
• Basic understanding of electronic component packages (SMT, THT).
• Read and interpret component datasheets for dimensions, pinouts, and footprints.
• Create PCB library elements (symbols/footprints) as per given requirements.Ensure strict compliance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-7351, IPC Class 3) and internal design guidelines.
• Adhere to defined library creation checklists, QC processes, and approval workflows with no process deviations.
• Possess strong understanding of electronic component assembly processes and guidelines (SMT, THT, special packages).
• Demonstrate solid technical knowledge of component datasheets, including package dimensions, pinouts, land patterns, and assembly constraints.
• Accurately interpret and translate assembly and footprint requirements into compliant PCB library elements.
• Perform thorough quality checks and validation before library release.
• Act as a gatekeeper, ensuring only validated, compliant parts enter design workflows.
• Prevent introduction of defective, non-compliant, or incorrect components into PCB designs.
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness for components, including:Package and land pattern,Pin mapping and orientation,Lifecycle status and alternates
• Maintain traceability and controlled updates within library databases.
• Demonstrate strong hands-on experience with Altium Designer (library creation, database libraries).
• Have working experience with database and configuration management tools such as:
• Enovia / PLM systems GitHub,CIS / CIP,SVN
• Support PCB designers and stakeholders with library queries, updates, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PCB, Manufacturing, SCM, Quality) to ensure library readiness and alignment."
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics / Electronics and Communication / Electrical Engineering.
"• Total relevant work experience: 2+ years.
Skills:
• Hands-on experience in Altium (Must) / Allegro (Capture, PCB editor), Xpedition or equivalent Layout and Capture tool.

• Sound knowledge of electrical & electronic components - Surface Mount & through Hole, custom parts.

• Hands-on experience in library database management, Parts, Symbols & footprints creation.
• Ability to interpret component datasheets, package drawings, JEDEC specs
• Sound knowledge of IPC Standards like IPC2221A, IPC7351, IPC-6012, IPC-A-610 ,IPC-SM-782, UL and MIL.
• Awareness of DFA guiedlines, CIS / CIP database, DBLIB, MDB, SVN,ENOVIA,PLM tool or equivalant library management and version control tools.
Desired:
• Added advantage: PCB design & Schematic drafting.
Special:
• Experience with PCB manufacturing process (Design for Manufacturing, assembly and testing) and validation of Gerbers using CAM350.
• Good knowledge of PCB design guidelines for EMI / EMC aspects, some exposure on hardware testing
• Domain knowledge for PCB Layout design."
