Application Engineer
Eaton's Electrical sector is currently seeking an Application Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Delta, BC facility and offers benefits from day one as well as a company vehicle.
The overall targeted annual compensation range for this role is $93000 - $117000 a year.

What you'll do:
In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and supporting Eaton's electrical products, assemblies, and services to consulting engineers, specifiers, and key end-user decision makers. This is a professional technical sales role focused on achieving sales goals through specification positioning, supporting overall sales and channel efforts, and exceeding consultant and end-user expectations. The emphasis is on growing profitable order volume across all product lines by influencing projects early in the design phase while expanding Eaton's presence and specification position within the industry. This position coordinates and implements overall sales strategies with a strong focus on consultant engagement and front-end project development.

Sales - Implement sales plans and growth strategies, to achieve annual performance objectives. Prepare and present sales proposals and value propositions to satisfy customer needs and expectations. Understand, and be responsive to, market conditions and competitive activities. Promote Eaton products and services to optimize sales volume, product mix, and profitability. Assist with layout and design control and monitoring systems using Eaton's assembly and component products to provide customer solutions. Provide technical assistance to customers and channel.
Collaboration - Achieve team Orders and Sales goals. Maintain co-operative and credible working relationships with internal personnel, to consistently exceed customer expectations. Prepare sales presentations to create product/service/solution understanding and awareness.
Customer Relationships - Interface with Electrical Consultant Principals and Lead Electrical Engineers, as well as Facility Engineers. Conduct product training to expand customer, consultant and channel knowledge. Develop bid strategies and quotations for customers using price and delivery guidelines, applying sound business decisions to enhance sales volume and margins. Identify customer needs and prepare value propositions to satisfy customer expectations.
Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton's Philosophy and Values as well as Safety and Environmental standards.
Qualifications:

The Application Engineer manages all aspects of the business relationship with consulting engineers, providing sales and technical assistance to consultants, designers, end users, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is an agile learner, self-directed, and enjoys a fast-paced sales environment. They understand the importance of consultant relationships, specification strategy, pricing, and organizational alignment to deliver effective support to internal and external partners. They will have strong electrical product knowledge with the ability to write and support technical specifications for new projects, with a primary focus on driving specification positioning and influencing project design decisions that lead to downstream sales success.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technologist Diploma.
• Minimum of five (5) years of technical experience in the electrical industry.
• Possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineering License (P. Eng)
• Previous sales experience
• Strong knowledge of Eaton electrical products, related services, and competitor offerings
• Extensive experience with medium voltage and low voltage assemblies
Skills:
• Ability to assist consultants with layout, design and budgetary estimate using Eaton's assembly products and component
• Initiative and self-management skills
• Value selling experience
• Excellent presentation and communication abilities
• Presentation and training skills
• Understanding of selling techniques and Eaton's capabilities
• Technical knowledge regarding the application of Power Distribution and Control products
• Demonstrated ability to interface with Electrical Consultant Principals and Lead Electrical Engineers, EIT's as well as End Users
• Possess knowledge of products, markets channels and associated applications
• Ability to travel up to 25%
