Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a AI System Architect. The expected annual salary range for this role is $109000 - $159000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Job summary

As an AI System Architect, you will lead the design, delivery, and maintenance of innovative, scalable, and secure technology solutions that leverage artificial intelligence to solve real business problems. You will be actively involved in both business and technical analysis, using problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical architecture and stakeholder engagement, and who is passionate about applying AI and emerging technologies to drive transformation. You will work closely with business leaders, product owners, architects, and technical teams to understand strategic goals, define system architectures, and guide delivery across multiple systems and teams.

Job responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Collaborate closely with Enterprise and Solution Architects to define and communicate a shared architectural vision for complex systems, ensuring alignment with Eaton's AI strategy, architecture guardrails and standards, outcomes from capability-based planning, and business strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with cross-functional teams to understand challenges and co-create AI-driven solutions.
  • AI Deployment, Integration, and Support: Translate business needs into technical requirements, and lead the evaluation, design, deployment, and ongoing support of AI-enabled solutions
  • Innovation & Experimentation: Cultivate a culture of innovation by exploring emerging technologies and piloting new approaches.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide guidance on DevSecOps, CI/CD, cloud architecture, governance, and product delivery best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Advocate for automation, quality, and technical debt reduction through proactive planning and prioritization.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Institution
  • Minimum five (5) years in IT, software development, or system architecture with a proven track record of shipping high quality products
  • Minimum three (3) years in Azure Cloud Services with hands on experience using services such as Azure Open AI, Azure AI Foundry, and other AI services.
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Moon Township PA: Beachwood OH: Galesburg MI: Raleigh NC: Houston TX: or Menomonee Falls WI locations to be considered.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with stakeholder-facing roles and cross-functional business process transformation
  • Experience with modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services.
  • Firm understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic protocols such as MCP and A2A, and a willingness to learn emergent AI technologies
  • Hands on proficiency in Python and understanding of modern software design principles
  • Extensive experience working with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban teams
  • Experience with multiple cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. Certification is a plus
