Accounting Manager - Finance
What you'll do:
Accounting Manager role will be part of GFA Pune team responsible and accountable to perform the accounting activities (with due focus on RTR function) for daily operations of the customers in North America from GFA, Pune. The individual should understand the process workflows well and be able to decipher the process interconnect and impacts. This role is instrumental in supporting the Regional Controllers to ensure an adequate internal controls environment throughout the business. This includes the effective deployment of a comprehensive account reconciliation and balance sheet review process & smooth Month-end Close.
Role Purpose
The Accounting Manager is responsible for end to end ownership of global RTR accounting within a controllership. This role ensures accurate accounting, reporting, compliance, and process excellence for accounting portfolios in accordance with US GAAP, while driving standardization, automation, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Compliance
• Own and manage global accounting activities
• Ensure accurate , compliance, timely, closure of Books of account
• Oversee accounting (Prepaid , Inventory , Warranty , E&O , Other accruals , Audit support & Compliance schedules )
• Maintain compliance with statutory, SOX, and internal control requirements

Period Close & Financial Reporting
Smooth month end, quarter end, and year end close for accounting
• Review and approve:
o MEC journals
o Reconciliations
o Variance analysis
Audit & Compliance support
Define and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and control frameworks
Ensure accurate accounting of finance performed by team

4. Team Leadership & Capability Building
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analyst
• Allocate work, review deliverables, and ensure quality
• Drive technical upskilling on Global accounting
• Support succession planning , talent development and performance review

5. Stakeholder Management
Business Partnership : Regional controllership team , Audit team & cross function value streams
• Provide technical advisory on accounting impact
• Support business decisions with financial and accounting insights

6. Systems, Data & Process Excellence
• Own and optimize accounting systems (e.g., SAP/ Oracle , EPBS ,ARCS )
• Drive process automation, simplification, and continuous improvement
• Lead or support system migrations and process transitions

7. Controls, Audit & Risk Management
• Ensure robust internal controls over accounting
• Act as primary contact for internal and external audits
• Address audit observations and drive sustainable corrective actions
• Monitor accounting changes and assess business impact

• On time and accurate accounting close & ME Close process
• Audit outcomes (zero/high risk observations)
• Process standardization and efficiency gains
• Stakeholder satisfaction
• Team capability and attrition metrics
Qualifications:
• Chartered Accountant (CA)/ CMA / MBA
Experience
• 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience
Skills:
• Experience in shared services / global delivery model
• Prior people management experience
Shift : 2:30 PM to 11 : 30 PM ( NA Region)
Skills:
Technical Skills
• US GAAP application and interpretation ( Inventory , warranty , Revenue Recognition )
• Local accounting systems & ERPs
• Financial reporting, reconciliations, and controls
• Advanced Excel; exposure to Power BI or analytics tools preferred
Leadership & Behavioral Competencies
• Strong ownership and accountability mindset
• Ability to manage complexity across regions
• Clear communication with senior stakeholders
• Continuous improvement and change leadership
