As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will play a key role in modernizing mission-critical platforms that enable the secure, reliable, and high-volume movement of business transactions across DTCC's enterprise ecosystem. Leveraging technologies including Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, Angular, React, Docker, and Kubernetes, you will design and build cloud-native applications, scalable microservices, modern user experiences, and real-time event-driven solutions.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence

  • Lead the design, development, and support of full-stack applications utilizing Java, Spring Boot, Angular, React, and AWS.
  • Drive application architecture, technical design reviews, engineering standards, and software development best practices.
  • Champion engineering excellence through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance across teams.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and engineering practices that improve platform capabilities and developer productivity.


Cloud-Native Application Development

  • Design and implement scalable microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Build cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services and containerized technologies.

Event-Driven & Platform Engineering

  • Design and develop event-driven architectures utilizing Kafka and related messaging technologies.
  • Implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and resilient application services.
  • Support enterprise transaction processing platforms requiring high throughput, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Develop solutions that ensure transaction integrity, reconciliation, auditability, and operational control.


DevOps, Reliability & Operational Excellence

  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
  • Implement monitoring, observability, alerting, resiliency, and recovery capabilities.
  • Optimize performance, scalability, security, and availability across distributed environments.
  • Support applications throughout the software development lifecycle, including production support and continuous improvement initiatives.


Collaboration & Delivery

  • Partner closely with Product Owners, Architects, Platform Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic technology solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively within Agile teams across global locations.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Contribute to strategic modernization initiatives and enterprise technology roadmaps.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale software applications.
  • Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives and delivering scalable technology solutions.


Talent Needed for Success

Full Stack Engineering

  • Deep expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Hibernate.
  • Strong experience building modern front-end applications using Angular and/or React.
  • Proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience building highly scalable, high-performance enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and software architecture best practices.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka.


Cloud & DevOps

  • Experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS, including EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, and related services.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and containerized application deployments.
  • Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Jira, and CI/CD automation.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous delivery principles.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and automation practices is preferred.


Data & Platform Engineering

  • Strong SQL, database development, and performance tuning experience utilizing Oracle or DB2.
  • Experience working with enterprise integration, messaging, and transaction-processing systems.
  • Knowledge of reconciliation processes, operational controls, audit frameworks, and data integrity solutions.
  • Understanding of observability, monitoring, resiliency engineering, capacity planning, and operational readiness practices.
  • Strong knowledge of secure coding principles, application security, and software engineering best practices.


Leadership & Professional Skills

  • Ability to influence technical direction and drive architectural decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and foster collaborative, high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Spring Cloud and cloud-native design patterns.
  • Experience with IBM MQ, Solace, or other enterprise messaging technologies.
  • Experience with Python or automation development.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, high-volume, mission-critical transaction processing platforms.
  • Experience working across mainframe, distributed, and cloud-native ecosystems.
  • Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Kiro, or similar technologies.
  • Financial Services, Capital Markets, FinTech, Payments, or other highly regulated industry experience.
  • Financial Services, Capital Markets, FinTech, or experience working in highly regulated industries
