THE DEPOSITORY TRUST & CLEARING CORPORATION SEEKS:
TITLE: Principal Software Engineer
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead the design and implementation of technical solutions with a strong focus on reliability, data integrity, maintainability, reusability, extensibility, usability, and scalability.
- Define and enforce scalability and performance benchmarks for assigned applications, ensuring compliance with performance, privacy, and security standards.
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and cloud-native applications.
- Proactively analyze and tune application performance to identify, eliminate, and prevent performance bottlenecks.
- Manage day-to-day technical activities of the team and oversee business-critical applications, including ownership of technical designs across distributed teams and locations.
- Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, unit testing, security, scalability, and maintainability guidelines.
- Diagnose and resolve data and environment-related issues, performing impact analysis, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance.
- Define and manage technical processes with a strong emphasis on non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design and implement efficient, scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and Python, optimizing solutions for performance and cost efficiency.
- Work with container platforms such as OpenShift and Amazon EKS to design, deploy, and manage containerized applications.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and solutions.
- Apply appropriate software development methodologies, including Agile practices, based on project needs.
- Integrate risk management and control processes into daily responsibilities, actively monitoring risks, mitigating issues, and escalating concerns as appropriate.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (any), Technology Management or related field and 8 years of experience in the job or related position OR a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (any), Technology Management or related field and 6 years of experience in the job or related position. Prior education, training or experience to include:
- Java/J2EE Technologies and design patterns: Java 7/8, J2EE (Servlets, JSP and JSTL, EJB, JMS, JDBC)
- Java Frameworks: Spring 5, Spring boot
- Frontend Technology: Angular, Prime NG, Bootstrap CSS
- Object Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks: myBatis and Hibernate
- User Interface languages: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, AJAX
- Hands-on experience with RESTful web services.
- Database: DB2, Oracle
- Java Development Tools and Application Servers: Eclipse IDE, IBM WebSphere 8.5 and above, Tomcat 8.0
- Testing Frameworks / Technology: JUnit, Performance testing
- Data Formats: JSON, XML
- Application build scripts: Git, Gradle and Maven
LOCATION: Tampa, FL. Telecommuting may be permitted a few days a week. When not telecommuting, must report to DTCC's office in Tampa, FL.
SALARY: $145,642.00 per year.
