THE DEPOSITORY TRUST & CLEARING CORPORATION SEEKS:
TITLE: Lead Test Architect
JOB DUTIES: As a Lead Test Architect, you'll operate at the forefront of test strategy and architecture, overseeing the design, implementation, and evolution of sophisticated testing frameworks and methodologies. This role requires extensive expertise in test automation, programming, and a comprehensive understanding of testing tools and technologies. You'll be instrumental in driving quality, influencing architectural decisions, and mentoring teams to uphold the highest standards of software testing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Strategic Test Framework Development: Lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of advanced test frameworks applying brand-new technologies and programming languages to support sophisticated testing needs.
- Innovation and Feasibility Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies, and develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to advance the test architecture landscape.
- Architectural Contributions: Play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of software/data testing frameworks, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and adaptability to evolving business needs.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Engage with diverse stakeholders including Product Management, Application Development, DevOps, and technical teams to strategize and coordinate testing efforts across the enterprise.
- Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide leadership, guidance, and training to Test Engineers, nurturing their skills and facilitating the transition towards a sophisticated Test Engineering paradigm.
- Risk Mitigation and Compliance: Incorporate risk and control processes into daily responsibilities, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks while adhering to compliance standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Design and expand framework capabilities for implementing automated tests across varied environments.
- Develop end-to-end automated tests using advanced programming languages (Java, JS, Selenium) to validate system functionality.
- Extend automated testing to cover component behavior through automated component tests.
- Integrate automated tests seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines.
- Align closely with development and testing teams to comprehend technical and business requirements, shaping test strategies accordingly.
- Contribute extensively to the enhancement and evolution of the automation framework.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Engineering (any) or related field and 7 years of experience in the job or related position OR a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of experience in the job or related position.
Prior education, training or experience to include:
- Java for development and test automation, with a proven ability to build robust, scalable automation frameworks from scratch.
- Java design patterns and data structures, applying them in complex testing scenarios and large-scale automation architectures.
- Designing and executing automation using Selenium and related opensource tools such as TestNG or JUnit, including framework enhancements and custom utility development.
- Web Services testing-both manual and automated-including REST/SOAP validation, API contract testing, and end to end integration automation.
- CI/CD ecosystems, with hands on experience using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, and related build/deployment pipelines.
- Database testing with Snowflake, leveraging JDBC and Java to build automated data validation workflows, validate large datasets, and support end to end data quality checks.
- Programmatically testing any software product and building scalable automation for custom, proprietary codebases, including internal libraries and services.
- Modern tools and technologies such as AngularJS, Protractor, Jasmine, JavaScript, JMeter, UFT/QTP, and other automation or performance testing frameworks.
- Automating service/API layers and working across distributed systems, with AWS cloud services and cloud native testing strategies.
