The Impact you will have in this role:
As part of the Application Packaging team, you will play a critical role in enabling secure, reliable, and scalable software deployment across the firm's Windows and macOS platforms. Your work ensures that applications meet compliance, security, operational, and lifecycle standards while providing employees with a seamless end-user experience.
You will drive the creation, modernization, and governance of software packages used enterprise-wide, partnering closely with Desktop Engineering, Service Management, SAM, security teams, and development groups to ensure consistency and alignment. Your contributions will directly support enterprise automation efforts, cross-platform enablement, and the firm's broader technology strategy - enhancing productivity, reducing operational risk, and improving time-to-delivery for software services.
This role requires strong expertise in packaging tools, deployment platforms (Intune, SCCM, Jamf), software lifecycle processes, application troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration. You will influence application design and intake processes, ensuring that new software adheres to standards, licensing rules, and deployment governance frameworks.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Package, test, and deploy applications for Windows and macOS using tools such as PSAppToolkit, Intune, Jamf, App-V, MSIX, and internal automation frameworks.
- Manage application lifecycle activities, including upgrades, versioning, dependency validation, certificate requirements, environment compatibility, and UAT coordination.
- Analyze and intake new software requests, ensuring licensing, security, platform support, and business requirements are satisfied prior to packaging.
- Collaborate with SAM and Security to evaluate entitlements, vendor restrictions, and compliance risks for new and existing applications.
- Automate deployment workflows, including AD group creation, dynamic assignment logic, and integration with ServiceNow Catalog and backend triggers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve packaging, deployment, and integration issues, providing Level 3 support for escalated application delivery incidents.
- Create and maintain documentation, including packaging runbooks, application-specific instructions, deployment notes, and automation configuration details.
- Monitor deployment success and endpoint compliance, using dashboards, reporting tools, and analytics to ensure high-quality delivery and identify optimization opportunities.
- Cross-platform enablement, helping ensure applications are evaluated and modernized for macOS availability where applicable.
- Partner with business units and engineering teams to ensure application designs align with deployment patterns, platform constraints, and operational readiness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4 years of proven experience in application packaging and development for macOS.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune and its application deployment capabilities.
- Proficiency in using PSAppToolkit for application packaging.
- Experience with other scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
- Expertise in Jamf Composer for macOS application packaging and management.
- Experience with Microsoft App V and MSIX for application packaging.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Talents Needed for Success:
- Package and deploy applications for macOS using industry-standard tools and techniques.
- Knowledge in On Prem and Azure Active Directory
- Manage application deployment and updates through Microsoft Intune (OnPrem and Azure AD).
- Utilize PSAppToolkit for efficient application packaging and deployment.
- Leverage Jamf Composer for macOS application packaging and management.
- Implement and manage application packaging using Microsoft App V and MSIX.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application packaging and deployment.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure applications meet organizational standards and requirements.
- Document packaging processes and maintain accurate records of application versions and configurations.
- Provide support and training end-users and IT staff on application deployment and usage.
