Sales Engineer
About the Team
Our Sales Engineering team is responsible for the adoption and growth of advertising solutions with our hundreds Top SMB restaurants in the US. This sales engineering team partners with our existing sales team (Account Management and Account Development) to understand marketing growth goals of our restaurant customers and tailor our product solutions to meet their needs.
About the Role
As an Ads Value Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting sales reps in handling any and all technical or product questions and blockers in the sales cycle. You do this through joining sales calls with merchants, deeply understanding their business and technology stack, and creating and communicating solutions that align the merchants needs and goals to our marketing offering. This position will report to the Head of Account Development, Marketing. This role will be a remote job but must be based inside the US. Close proximity to a DoorDash Office is preferred.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will...
- Drive sales - assisting in qualifying and closing deals from a technical standpoint, collaborating with sales and development partners.
- Become a subject matter expert - on the DoorDash Advertising product suite including campaign performance, upsell opportunities and ROAS (return on ad spend).
- Create and deliver customized performance reviews, product demos and proof of concepts - Support pre- and post product adoption analysis: forecast expected impact, run experiments/tests, analyze results, and iterate.
- Influence the product roadmap - by aggregating merchant feedback calls that will help determine the direction of the roadmap.

- You are resourceful in finding answers to non-standard questions by smartly searching available resources and running your own tests and deductions.
- You have experience pulling complex data-sets, presenting results to customers in a digestible format and building/editing dashboards to showcase data.
- You are able to problem solve effectively and efficiently matching appropriate solutions for each merchant scenario.
- You seamlessly collaborate with sales team members and understand how to assist and accelerate the sales process.
- You have a minimum 4 years of sales engineering, sales consultant, value engineer, pre-sales solution consulting or related roles experience.
In addition we prefer candidates with...
- Experience writing SQL queries involving one or more joins for data retrieval and analysis. DoorDash has abundant data that can be very helpful to pull insights relevant to selling and troubleshoot issues.
- Previous experience with Ad-Tech, Advertising Products or Models including campaign metrics; value analyses and financial metrics (e.g., CPA, incremental sales lift, lifetime value uplift, return on ad spend) for different ad products/features.
Compensation
Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants and sales commission. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.
$68,520-$100,800 USD
The total on-target earnings (base + commissions) for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.
$114,200-$168,000 USD
