About the Team
The Outside Alcohol Sales and Emerging Business Sales teams are paving the way for DoorDash's next billion-dollar businesses. Stationed across the country, these teams build and scale strategic partnerships with top local and mid-market merchants across our non-restaurant lines of business. This includes a diverse and growing suite of offerings such as Alcohol (Marketplace & Self-Delivery), Hemp, Channel Partners, and new emerging categories.
As the revenue-driving arm of DoorDash, these teams accelerate the expansion of our merchant partnerships-strengthening operations, driving customer growth, and improving DoorDash's bottom line. They are often the first to test, launch, and scale new products, making them critical to DoorDash's long-term success.

About the Role
We are looking for a Regional Merchant Lead to establish partnerships with top local and mid-market merchants across strategic markets within DoorDash's New Verticals. Merchant selection is central to DoorDash's growth: the more high-quality merchants we onboard, the faster we attract new customers, retain existing ones, and increase conversion.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of selling and building. As DoorDash continues to expand into new lines of business, the Regional Merchant Lead will grow selection in emerging categories, drive customer adoption, and shape go-to-market strategies. Product focus may shift quarter-to-quarter with the opportunity to launch additional new products as they become ready for scale.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will...
- Build and deepen partnerships with high-potential merchants by showcasing the value of DoorDash's full suite of services (Marketplace, POS Integrations, and more)
- Master our service offerings - solve merchant pain points, apply product knowledge to win deals, and share insights to improve both merchant and customer experiences
- Lead complex negotiations to structure industry-leading, mutually beneficial economic terms
- Manage a highly organized, fast-paced sales cycle with the goal of closing deals within weeks
- Bring structure to early-stage, ambiguous environments while helping shape new business lines
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Strategic Sales Managers, Partner Management, and central teams (Strategy, Drive, POS, Marketing) to maximize account value
We're excited about you because...
- You have 3+ years of experience in a closing sales role or similar capacity
- You have 1+ years of outside sales experience (preferred)
- You excel in strategic, complex deal cycles
- You thrive in fast-changing environments and enjoy taking on new challenges every few months
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and can create structure where none exists
- You have a track record of exceeding goals
- You have experience selling multi-product solutions
- You think from Merchant first principles and approach problems analytically
- You bring creative sales tactics to find new business, engage prospects and increase conversion
- You are proficient with CRM tools (Salesforce) and Google Workspace
- You are a fast learner eager to adopt new tools and processes
- You are able and willing to travel 50%+, including overnight stays
