Responsible for supporting engineering development of laser-illuminated display systems. The successful candidate will have a proven track record assisting engineers with lasers, projectors, and/or other optical systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assemble, align, and test optical systems as directed by engineers.
Conduct measurements and optimize performance of laser and laser-illumination projector systems as directed by engineers.
Follow written procedures.
Help troubleshoot hardware failures and other issues.
Help maintain documentation as required.
Clearly communicate problems to the rest of the development group.
Keep labs clean and orderly.
Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required
At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
Familiarity with the safe use of high-power laser systems.
Familiarity with tools and shop equipment.
Detail-oriented fabrication skills including excellent manual dexterity.
Methodical and detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Able to work closely with engineers to achieve goals.
Great people skills, including the ability to collaborate successfully with team members from optical engineering, mechanical engineering, and other engineering groups.
Ability to multitask, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Position is based in San Francisco.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $97,300 - 117,000, which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
