Supply Chain & Manufacturing is where our brands are made, moved and delivered to the world.

About the Role:

The Training and Capability Specialist plays a key role in building a capable, compliant and high-performing manufacturing workforce across Diageo Australia. This role supports the development, coordination and governance of training, SOPs and capability processes to ensure employees have the knowledge, skills and tools to work safely, consistently and in line with Diageo standards.

Working closely with Operations, Manufacturing Excellence, Quality, Safety, Engineering and HR, you will help embed standard ways of working, strengthen training compliance and support capability uplift across our manufacturing sites.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain training records, competency documentation, compliance evidence and training matrices to ensure accuracy, audit readiness and alignment with site requirements.
  • Create, update and standardise SOPs, work instructions and training materials to support safe, consistent and compliant operations.
  • Deliver or coordinate training, refresher sessions and capability-building activities for operators, frontline leaders and site teams.
  • Partner with leaders and SMEs to support effective on-the-job training, coaching and knowledge transfer across manufacturing teams.
  • Support the rollout of Manufacturing Excellence practices by training teams in standard routines, problem-solving tools and continuous improvement ways of working.
  • Maintain training systems, document control processes and digital learning tools to ensure materials are current, accessible and fit for purpose.
  • Monitor training efficiency through measures such as completion, adherence, and time to proficiency, and find opportunities to improve capability outcomes.


Experience / Skills Required:
  • Experience in training coordination, capability development, learning administration, document control or operational excellence within manufacturing, FMCG, food, beverage or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience maintaining SOPs, training records, compliance documentation and document management systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, safe work practices, quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to deliver training, facilitate learning or support structured on-the-job development for frontline teams.
  • Strong partner engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, HR and frontline leaders.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, SharePoint, learning management systems or other digital training/document platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
