Location: Budapest

Contract: Fixed term (until 31 Jan 2027)

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and talented finance manager for a fixed term period till January 31st, 2027.

This role reports to the FP&A Senior Manager based in Budapest as well as to the Finance Director, Supply Operation based in the US, and responsible for the site based out of Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada. The operations at the site include distillation, maturing and bottling of Diageo brands.

About the team

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Tower is part of Global Business Operations. It leads all aspects of financial activities and controls including general accounting, management and external reporting. It also handles budgeting and financial evaluation. The tower is responsible for the interpretation of financial and statutory data, the coordination and management of financial and statutory reporting, the management of the P&L and balance sheet delivering solutions that will increase insight and visibility. Tower responsibilities also include ensuring there is a true and fair representation of business performance at the cut-off point for the period and visibility on financials for Business Performance Management.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Partner with the leadership of the manufacturing sites under your remit.
  • Work with other teams within the Business Shared Services for timely and accurately closing the Books and performing various financial analysis.
  • Effectively collaborate across the finance community (Tax, Insurance, Supply, FP&A, etc.).
  • Business partner with other Supply organizations including Planning, Blending, Technical, Procurement etc., and coordinate the flow of information between multiple levels of management.


Purpose of the Role
  • Lead the financial reporting, accounting, and analysis of the financial performance of the manufacturing operation at the sites.
  • Lead the development of the annual operating plans (AOP), latest estimates (LE) and delivery of financial results.
  • Partner the development and implementation of pivotal initiatives.
  • Drive performance and decision-making process by providing financial support and leadership.
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities and work with the site leadership to execute them.
  • Maintain a strong internal control & compliance environment.
  • Simplify reporting and decision-making processes by demonstrating digital tools.
  • Identify and pro-actively manage risks and opportunities and provide performance insights.


Top Accountabilities
  • Deliver monthly management reporting on Actual results (BPM reports, landing report, O&R, Working Capital and Cash Flow reporting and forecasting) also prepare deck for the related review meetings.
  • Deliver accurate forecasts (LE) based on identified trends in the actuals and information collected from the stakeholders.
  • Play a key role in the preparation and submission of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategic Plan (ASC).
  • Support finance processes where business judgement is needed; provide accurate, thorough and timely analysis as needs are identified or requested.


What you'll bring
  • Proven end-to-end supply chain and cost accounting understanding.
  • Ability to effectively business partner and communicate across supply and finance and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Financial analysis skills, including ability to manage complex data for decision support, reporting and financial planning.
  • Strong stewardship approach.
  • Self-driven, working independently.
  • 5+ years of financial management and accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing consumer goods environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required; a professional accounting designation or MBA is an advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical and planning skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong technical accounting, planning, analysis, reporting and systems expertise, SAP knowledge.
  • Proven ability to distill complex business issues, provide logical, compelling, and clear plans for action.
  • Requires excellent leadership and networking skills and ability to lead and influence organizational changes.
  • Experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment is considered an advantage.
  • Fluent English knowledge is a must.
  • Fluent French is an advantage.
  • Travel is required
