What you'll be doing:

The Social Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Social Media Manager and the wider Media & Digital Centre by owning the operational backbone of Europe's social media ecosystem. This role is crucial to delivering Project Ichnite's social consolidation agenda, ensuring platform governance, supporting paid social excellence, and strengthening relationships with agencies, markets, and global teams.

The ideal candidate is detail-driven, operationally strong, and highly collaborative, with a deep understanding of social platforms and influencer ecosystems. While operations will be the core focus, this role will also contribute to strategic initiatives, paid social planning, and media partner engagement.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Leading the consolidation effort for Diageo's social media accounts

  • Manage the consolidation process for Europe's social media accounts as part of Diageo's global consolidation optimization strategy.
  • Build accurate documentation of account closures and ensure that agencies are following process guidelines on content transfer from local to global handles.
  • Help coordinate onboarding/offboarding processes for social assets, ensuring compliance with Diageo standards.
  • Build a tracker that demonstrates the reduction of social handles across all EU markets


Support Agency Coordination
  • Facilitate communication between agencies and internal teams to ensure alignment with Project Ichnite objectives.
  • Deliver timely and clear communications to local brand teams and their agency teams
  • Support the social media operations manager on creating a forum to provide regular updates and create a forum for open questions on social media consolidation for the region


Social media platforms expert
  • Have expertise in digital platforms and influencer tools
  • Have deep knowledge and a strong understanding of the key nuances across the various social media platforms that Diageo use today (META, Youtube, Pinterest, X, Snap, Reddit)


Support for Paid Social Strategy & Planning
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to aid the development of paid social approaches throughout Europe, ensuring plans align with Diageo's broader media and brand objectives.
  • Monitor platform updates, audience trends, and emerging ad formats, providing consolidated recommendations to inform paid strategy development.
  • Work with media partners (e.g., META, YouTube, Pinterest) to gather insights, updates, and best practices that can enhance paid social effectiveness.
  • Support the implementation of paid social strategies across markets, ensuring campaigns follow Diageo guidelines relating to targeting, placements, brand safety, and measurement.
  • Provide ongoing reporting assistance for paid social campaigns, collaborating with the Social Media Manager to interpret campaign performance and surface optimisation insights.


Performance Tracking & Reporting
  • Analyze gathered data to extract actionable insights on influencer collaborations and share them with marketing groups and their local agencies, improving engagement strategies and cultural conversations.
  • Present findings in a clear and actionable manner, supporting strategic decision-making processes
  • Manage the workflow for influencer amplification budgets, ensuring paid support aligns with activation plans and is accurately tracked.
  • Ensure Digital Marketing Standards are upheld across social media execution


Collaboration with Stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the CSO team to streamline operational processes related to compliance and security protocols.
  • Work closely with markets and agencies to roll out standard processes across the region
  • Collaborate with media & digital managers in markets on identifying opportunities for influencer implications


What you'll have:
  • Experience in working in social media, particularly account management within an agency or in house team
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms such as META, Pinterest and Youtube
  • Strong ability to interpret data, generate reports and provide actionable insights based on performance metrics
  • Familiarity with the Sprinklr and Traackr platform in a previous / current role
  • Effective communicator capable of liaising between agencies, internal teams, and stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English
