About the role-

The Senior Executive - Supply Chain is responsible for coordinating and executing end-to-end supply chain activities at the unit level. This includes material planning, procurement coordination, inventory control, logistics handling, vendor management, and ensuring on-time availability of materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. The role demands strong analytical skills, cross-functional coordination, and a proactive approach to maintaining optimal supply chain efficiency.

OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance.

Inventory accuracy & turns.

Material availability vs. stock-outs.

Production plan achievement.

Logistics cost optimization.

Vendor performance metrics.

Role Responsibilities-

A. Production & Material Planning

Prepare and execute daily/weekly/monthly Production Planning (PPC) based on customer demand, sales forecast, and capacity.

Develop Material Requirement Plans (MRP) and ensure timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and packaging materials.

Coordinate with Manufacturing/Quality/Stores teams to align plan vs. actual production.

Monitor WIP levels and ensure optimum flow of materials to the shop floor.

B. Procurement Coordination & Vendor Management

Collaborate with centralized procurement teams for timely release of POs and approvals.

Follow up with suppliers for delivery schedules, dispatch updates, and material shortages.

Manage local procurement for urgent requirements as per company policy.

Track vendor performance on quality, delivery, and responsiveness.

C. Inventory Management & Control

Ensure optimal inventory levels-avoid both excess stock and stock-outs.

Monitor and reconcile RM/PM/SFG/FG inventory on a regular basis.

Conduct and support monthly/quarterly physical stock audits.

Control non-moving, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory; implement corrective actions.

Maintain system accuracy for receipts, issues, and consumption (SAP/ERP).

D. Logistics & Dispatch Management

Plan and monitor inbound and outbound logistics ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.

Ensure all dispatch documentation (invoice, e-way bill, packing list, etc.) is accurate and compliant.

Coordinate with transporters, warehouse teams, and customers for seamless dispatch operations.

Track shipment status and resolve transit delays or discrepancies.

E. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Production, Quality, Finance, and Sales teams to maintain supply continuity.

Escalate disruptions and propose mitigation plans for supply chain risks.

Support new product introductions with required material and process readiness.

F. Compliance & Reporting

Ensure adherence to company policies, safety norms, and regulatory requirements.

Generate daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports (inventory, material shortages, plan vs actual, dispatch summary).

Analyze supply chain KPIs (OTIF, Inventory Turns, Forecast Accuracy, etc.) and implement improvement actions.

Experience / skills required -

Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, production planning, procurement, and logistics.

Hands-on experience in SAP systems.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and vendor engagement ability.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.

Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI (optional but preferred).

MBA or M.Com (preferable), M.Sc/ Alcohol Tech/ME/ M.Tech

3-7 years of experience in manufacturing supply chain or related functions.

Experience in plant-based operations preferred.
