Purpose of Position

The RTC Development Manager plays a crucial role in shaping and enhancing Diageo Moet Hennessy (Thailand)'s route to customer (RTC) strategies to drive significant growth. This position involves the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative route to market and consumer strategies, commercial interventions, and sales tools. Acting as a strategic partner to commercial leaders, the RTC Development Manager ensures the organization's route to consumer strategies are best in class, facilitating DMHT's ability to meet and exceed growth targets through effective distribution models and sales force optimization.

Role Responsibilities

Decision Making Authority

  • Authority to assess and redesign DMHT's route to consumer strategies and processes.
  • Decision-making on key route to consumer interventions and sales tools implementation.
  • Leadership in the transition from current to envisioned RTC strategies, in coordination with the Commercial Director.
  • P&L analysis and set distributor remuneration scheme.


Financial Accountability (Budget/Revenue)

  • Directly contributes to achieving net sales volume targets by enhancing route to consumer efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manages budgets allocated for RTC development initiatives and tools, ensuring optimal investment and return.
  • Monitor & control distributor ROI, P&L and incentive budget.


Market / Function Complexity
  • Addresses the complexities of navigating various distribution channels within Thailand's diverse market landscape.
  • Tailors RTC strategies to cater to specific channel demands and consumer behaviours.
  • Coordinates with internal teams and external partners, including distributors, to implement RTC enhancements.
  • Strengthen business process, sales fundamental and cost optimization.
  • Ensure the standard of distributor by assessment, set the KPIs measurement and analyse with front line team every quarter, find the ways to raise standard level.
  • Conduct inspections according to CARM control.
  • Go into the field to observe market behaviors, including exploring new market trends and practices to get new opportunities to enhance DMHT business.


People Management
  • Key internal stakeholders: Commercial Director, Sales Teams, GDBS (Global Diageo Business Services), and Project Teams.
  • Key external stakeholders: Distributors, Technology Partners (for DMS & SFA implementations).
  • Assess the Sales force capability; understand business challenges & vision to design the competency matrix and short-term & long-term development plan to upgrade sales force capability.
  • Requires strong leadership, influencing, and collaborative skills to align diverse teams and partners towards shared objectives.


Role Qualification & Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, commercial planning, or distribution management, preferably in the FMCG or alcohol beverage industry.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing effective route to market strategies and commercial interventions.


Knowledge and Skill
  • In-depth knowledge of route to market strategies and consumer behaviours in the alcohol beverage sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.
  • Proficiency in distributor management systems (DMS) and sales force automation (SFA) technologies.
  • Excellent communication and project management.
  • Able to build, design, and facilitate internal Sales trainings.
  • Fluent in English communication.
