National Field Sales Manager On Trade - Netherlands

About the Role

Purpose of the Role

The On-Trade channel plays a critical strategic role in achieving our long-term objectives across the Benelux & Nordics business by building our brands through exceptional consumer experiences. In a highly fragmented channel, success is driven by strong commercial fundamentals and outstanding execution across our covered universe-making this the primary focus of the role.

As part of the On-Trade Benelux & Nordics organization, you will lead our largest Field Sales Team, consisting of 8 On-Trade Account Managers and 2 National Account Managers, covering key cities and regions across the Netherlands.

Together with your team, you will nurture and grow existing customer relationships while actively identifying and developing new business opportunities. We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring leader who can successfully guide, support, and develop a young, motivated team with strong momentum and significant growth potential.

A key aspect of the role is centrally managing priorities and targets through a structured approach and close collaboration with Key Account Management teams, as well as internal stakeholders such as Customer Marketing and Business Effectiveness. Equally important is providing hands-on support to Account Managers in their day-to-day activities, including customer meetings and commercial negotiations on co-drives.

In addition, we are transforming our On-Trade channel to become more efficient, focused, and output-driven. This role will play an important part in driving that transformation by working closely with cross-functional business partners to enhance efficiency, improve ROI, and unlock new opportunities, while continuing to foster the strong people-focused culture that defines the team.

This role is based in Amsterdam, with an expectation to spend significant time in trade, staying close to customers, the market, and the team while being present to office based stakeholders.

Top Accountabilities

  • Deliver field sales performance with a focus on distribution and execution.
  • Deliver strong management by supervising team performance and by defining and implementing action plans with speed in working collaboratively with the Key Account, Customer Marketing and Business Effectiveness teams.
  • Demonstrate strong dedication for Diageo's internal compliance policies.
  • Set talent up for success supported by individual development plans, teamwork, and trustworthy relations.
  • End to end responsibility of investment strategy and budget of on-trade outlet universe.
  • Ensure optimal usage of the CRM and supporting tools. Drive accuracy of data input and further optimization of reporting.


About You
  • Experience in a commercial FMCG role, On Trade experience mandatory.
  • Strong people management capabilities with a people first mentality.
  • Solid analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact and deliver change through different levels.
  • Positive energy, solution oriented, with meaningful interpersonal skills.
