About the role


As a National Field Force Manager for our indirect customer universe, you drive the rollout and engagement of our premium core and super premium portfolio. You bring strong brand and production knowledge and confidently sell the history and heritage behind the portfolio you represent.

You are well connected within the German gastronomy scene. You know the most important and strategic restaurant chains, hotellerie accounts, and the most vibrant festivals. You have a proven track record of building brands in these spaces and a high affinity for premium beverages. You understand consumers deeply and know how to engage them.

You establish and maintain excellent relationships with key influencers in the industry and beyond. You are a first point of contact for upcoming trends and in depth knowledge of spirits and the industry. You engage decision makers across the On Trade network to ensure perfect execution in our outlet universe. Your role is complete only when our products are visible to consumers and you actively drive awareness and brand passion.

This is a commercial role at heart. You are responsible for commercial success, inspiring customer loyalty, and delivering impactful marketing activations.

Top Responsibilities

Driving brilliant execution

  • Build distribution excellence by setting clear performance benchmarks, performance managing the team, driving development in line with Diageo standards, and owning all people processes in Workday

Service management with third parties
  • Own third party service delivery end to end, ensuring high quality briefings, delivery against agreed SOW metrics, effective contract and performance management, budget adherence, and support in negotiations with high volume customers, in partnership with Business Effectiveness

Internal and external coordination
  • Orchestrate strong cross functional collaboration and clear communication flows with internal and external partners, ensuring effective meeting structures, capability building, legal compliant communication, and alignment with Luxury distribution and activation priorities

Project management
  • Partner closely with Commercial Transformation and Business Efficiency to manage risks, support governance, run performance reviews with external partners, enable robust reporting, and provide input into LT and SteerCo updates where required

Experience / skills required:
  • 8+ years of On Trade industry experience, with strong understanding of the spirits category, consumers, market trends, and key business drivers
  • Strong passion for premium spirits, with the credibility and presence to represent Diageo in line with our premium brand values
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship building skills, with the ability to engage customers, teams, and networks at point of purchase and beyond
  • Proven leadership capability to lead teams, shape internal conversations, and drive execution in complex environments
  • Self starting, resilient, agile, and competitive approach, with a strong bias for action
  • Highly structured approach with strong administrative rigor and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel: 40-60% of the time
  • Fluent German and English, written and spoken
