About the Role
Reporting to the Marketing Director Korea, the purpose of the role is to manifest the Johnnie Walker brand growth agenda in Korea to capture consumer, customer and culture opportunities. Build a modern luxury icon in the whisky segment with undisputed market leadership. This is pivotal role in the Marketing department and for Diageo Korea with expectation to grow into the next Marketing Director.
You will be responsible for
- Partner with Marketing Director and stakeholders to map out the Johnnie Walker Trademark growth strategy and Annual Operating Plan.
- Captain planning and deployment of end-to-end marketing levers for the Johnnie Walker brand including brand positioning, communication and activation, innovation and renovation, price and promotions to capture evolving consumer, customer and culture insights and foresights.
- Appropriate A&P investment choices and monitor spends against plan.
- Enhance creative excellence with precision and consumer-at-the-heart mindset.
- As coach and leader of the Johnnie Walker Team, cultivate talent with upleveled functional, leadership and business capabilities, external orientation, as well as partnership with Trade Marketing and Commercial to drive excellence in execution.
- Foster winning relationships with agencies, brand and media partners and opinion leaders. Enhance Johnnie Walker brand advocacy and demand.
- Effectively liaise with Global Brand Teams and APAC COEs while voicing out local needs and achievements.
- Derive insight into consumer behaviour in order to collaborate with Digital team in developing a successful Unified Commerce proposition in omni-channels.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Need
- 12+ years of experience. Progressive experience in brand management, innovation commercialization and integrated marketing communications is essential.
- End to end modern marketing exposure. Familiarity with consumer foresights and insights, creative development process, comms/media planning, in-culture brand building and trade marketing integration will be very important for the role.
- Leadership and gravitas. Needs to be able to coach his/her people to executional excellence and personal development. And manage multiple stakeholders at various levels across geographies.
- Analytical mindset. Comfortable with reading P&Ls, managing A&P and measuring marketing effectiveness.
- Creativity, boldness and relentless drive for excellence.
- Consumer goods experience is mandatory. F&B, alcohol and luxury will give some advantage though not essential. Marketing experiences in digital areas will give some advantage as well.
- University degree required (major in business or marketing preferred; MBA Preferred).
- Fluent in English.
