Our Supply Chain and Manufacturing team are problem-solvers, sourcing, producing and delivering our much-loved brands to delight customers around the globe. Over half of Diageo's 27,000+ people work in Supply Chain and Manufacturing. It's an intricate and sophisticated operation that's the product of logistical, manufacturing, and technical collaborations.
We operate Guinness packaging facilities at Marshalls Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Runcorn, in North West England, producing canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, UK and export markets. Significant investment is underway at both of these locations.
This role is site based at Runcorn which is an 18 Acre site running a 24/7 Operation with 4 rotational crews. It has 2 Bottling, 2 Canning lines and 1 Kegging production line. There are 90+ SKUs with 16 different Beer/Liquid types covering producing on average 23million cases of product per annum
About the role
Working across our canning and bottling areas, you'll play a pivotal role providing maintenance and continuous improvement skills to deliver and improve on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and asset care. You'll be accountable to ensure all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out at the defined frequency and completed to the required standard to ensure downtime is minimized.
In addition, you'll be responsible for supporting installation, commissioning, and testing within the area as the need arises. You'll work closely with and coach operators, engineers and team leaders to perform autonomous maintenance tasks, machine set ups optimisation and support growth in equipment capability as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Follow Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards, and work to all applicable legislative procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organised workplace environment through alignment to the Safety and 5S MMS practices.
• Provide crafts resource (electrical and mechanical) to the Operations Team
• Make full use of SAP - SAP reporting & recording completion.
• Raise 5 why's as defined by agreed trigger points. Work with Operators and site leaders to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift. Fixing problems and finding solutions
• Participate in line improvement projects.
• Anticipate issues and be more proactive in approach.
Health and safety compliance is key, and you'll be at the forefront of making sure this is monitored alongside other KPI's and targets.
About you
For this role you will be a time served Electrical or Mechanical Engineer or have acquired a minimum of HNC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and SVQ Level 2 & 3 alongside relevant work experience.

In addition to this, you will have demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk. It'd be advantageous if you had knowledge of working in the manufacturing industry however this is not essential.
