About the Function
Legal at Diageo is about more than managing risk, it's about helping the business move forward in the right way.
Working across a global portfolio of brands, this team navigates complex legal and regulatory landscapes, from intellectual property and compliance to corporate activity and commercial partnerships. They work closely with teams across the business, offering clear, pragmatic advice that supports confident decision-making.
It's a fast-moving, ever-evolving environment where no two challenges are the same. You'll need sound judgement, curiosity and the ability to see the bigger picture, balancing risk with opportunity in a way that protects our business while enabling it to grow.

Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will need to bring Diageo leadership standards and purpose to life and actively promote initiatives internally to other employees and markets.
- Be an effective and pragmatic legal and business advisor to the Indonesian management team by understanding the business closely and building great relationships with key stakeholders in both the Diageo business and third party relationships.
- Minimize legal risk by early involvement in key projects, guiding resolution of issues and proactively creating an environment where risk is avoided.
- Proactively lead the compliance agenda including providing training on key policies and maintain a rock-solid environment of controls and compliance .
- Support the teams on key projects and strategic initiatives.
Experience / skills required
- A minimum of 5+ year experienced lawyer, with prior experience at a leading law firm or relevant in-house experience.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, easily interacting with others and being approachable.
- Ability to work confidently and stand ground with senior managers.
- Experience in handling compliance challenged markets.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, commercial / pragmatic approach and strong influencing / coaching skills.
- Strong commercial law background, especially in the negotiation and documentation of commercial contracts.
- Ability to work within the commercial environment and to identify business critical issues and prioritize workload to align with business needs.
- Fluency in English and Indonesian Language.
