About the team-

DBS is a global, multi-functional shared service entity that handles DIAGEO-wide processes across various regions. Processes in scope are (organized by Tower): Financial Controlling, Sell to Cash, Source to Pay and HR Services.

There is a Captive Business Service Centre in Bangalore to service markets around the world to handle the three processes. This is a multi-cultural and matrixed environment.

Financial Controllership involves a distinct set of processes and skills that guarantees the true and fair representation of business performance at the cut-off point for the period and creates the clarity on financials for BPM. We are responsible for in market financials and the end-to-end ownership of financial activities and controls. We business partner with the market and drive in market transformation.

About the role-

The roles and responsibility FC Junior Manager includes but are not limited to;



Prepare and post the journal entries at month end in co-ordination with RTR and FP&A Team



Maintain and update accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards (Quick books - accounting tool outside SAP system)



Perform GL reconciliations - banking, creditors, debtors, inventory and ensure in compliance with Group accounting policy and CARM requirement



Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner



Coordination the submission of actual and forecasted cashflow and supporting working capital reporting



Support the Brand integration to Diageo distribution and supply model



Find opportunities to improve accounting processes and participate in automation or system enhancement initiatives

Role Responsibilities-

The Financial Controller is accountable for the accuracy and fair representation of the legal entity financial statements and all the underlying processes that supports the generation of the financial statements, at legal entity level.

The Financial Controller, as a member of the Financial Controlling Team and the wider regional Finance team:



Is the lead point of contact for in-market Finance teams on all issues relating to Financial Control of the entities under their control



Drives the Financial Control agenda for the entities under their control



Has final responsibility for the timely and quality review and submission of monthly financial statements for group reporting purposes and is actively involved in handling the month-end close process



Leads all aspects of statutory reporting



Ensures that the entities are operating in line with the internal control environment and provides guidance and input to external and internal audits



Identifies and leads improvement in execution projects, handles ad-hoc technical accounting projects and makes day-to-day decisions such as adequacy and appropriateness of month end accruals and provisions

Market Complexity

The Financial Controlling team is responsible for comprehensive management of the legal entity from accounting and controlling standpoint.

FC Junior Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes by fully understanding the operations of the business. This role ensures compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, and plays a key role in the accuracy and integrity of the financial reporting process.

The role also comprises:



Overseeing statutory reporting (actuals and forecasts), maintaining strong controls, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.



Collaborating extensively across various teams like RTR, FP&A, STP, and E2EC towers.



Exercise strong partner management

Experience / skills required -

CA/ACCA/ICWA with 2-4 years of relevant experience



CA Inter/Postgraduate with 8-10 years relevant experience



Proven track record in the area of Financial Accounting / Reporting, and/or Financial Controlling experience is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP).



Strong understanding of risk and controls



Strong analytical and problem-solving skills



Experience with preparation of statutory accounts and submissions



Excellent partner management skills and ability to work cross-functionally



Experience working with SAP and Business finance consolidation tool.



Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Quick books etc.) and MS Office

Clarity of thinking and strong verbal communication



Excellent Business English language (verbal and written), able to communicate effectively. Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner.



Ability to shift between critical thinking and detailed analysis



Curiousity, instinct to roll your sleeves up, pragmatism. Develop strong understanding of business needs and context.
