Enterprise Architecture is one of the most critical areas where with upgraded leadership and capabilities we can step change in shaping Diageo's competitive advantage. We need to elevate the strategic impact of Data and Integration capabilities within Diageo required to support the D&T vision of becoming "the best data insights" consumer product company.

The role of Enterprise Architect, Integrations will augment our capability by providing a comprehensive architecture approach to integration strategy, platforms, and patterns across a portfolio of initiatives, ensuring secure, scalable, and reusable connectivity that accelerates delivery and enables Diageo's ambition to become the best data intelligence consumer product company.

About the role:

The "Enterprise Integration Architect" role will report into the Data & Integration Domain Lead and will be focused on driving the Enterprise Integration strategy, process and standards. The Enterprise Integration Architect is responsible for evangelizing the Composable Enterprise and creating the blueprint, framework and roadmaps for integrating data assets aligned to our business strategy generating a step change in our integration maturity. A trusted advisor to Integration Solution Architects, you will bring your strategic insight, technical knowledge and expertise to influence decisions and design the future Enterprise Integration Architecture for Diageo that enables our ambition "to be the best insights-driven consumer product company".

Role Responsibilities:
  • Co-design the Target Enterprise Data & Integration Architecture to enable digital touchpoints everywhere and unleash the power of our data with an interconnected 360-degree view of our consumers, customers, suppliers and employees
  • Drive the simplification and modernization of our Integration landscape
  • Define the principles, processes, patterns and artifacts to drive the consistent practice of Integration Architecture across domains
  • Advise the Integration Architecture demand management process to ensure reusable integrations are prioritized and designed properly
  • Assess our current Integration Architecture maturity and provide clear roadmap with recommendations to create a step change improvement
  • Own the technology selection process (when vital) for new capabilities while also developing roadmaps for our standards related to our Integration Architecture maturity
  • Ensure architectural alignment and consistency across our Enterprise Integration Architecture by providing active engagement across D&T teams
  • Influence portfolio investments for key technology solutions in line with our roadmaps
  • Support enterprise programs such as Voyager by providing technical consulting and advisory services to senior internal collaborators on appropriate integration strategy and solutions
  • Provide thought leadership to challenge and influence strategic direction ensuring that business process, data, applications, and technology come together to meet business needs
  • Continual expansion of your architecture knowledge and network of influence, constantly seeking ways to increase the EA impact at Diageo
  • Supply to the overall success of EA, creating an EA leadership impact

    • Define a clear set of principles, processes and artifacts standardizing the practice of Integration Architecture across domains (Customer, Consumer, Supply, etc)
    • Advise the Integration Architecture Demand Management Process by establishing objectives and key results for the multi-functional team to standardize the process for any decisions related to critical cross-domain integration flows impacting strategic programs


  • Support all activities related to the Data & Integration Capability Reference Model:
    • L1, L2 and L3 business and process capabilities
    • AS-IS and TO-BE views of the technology, application, and process landscapes
    • Roadmaps to drive future technology and capability maturity
    • Encompasses both internal (in use) and external (market leading) capabilities to shape and evolve the business strategy


Experience / skills required:

  • Architecture Expertise:
    • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar
    • 7+ years of demonstrated ability in IT, with at least two years in information systems design
    • In-depth expertise in Integration Architecture, designing/implementing information solutions and data management programs in the CPG/Pharma/Retail industries
    • Experience in architecting & implementing large-scale, modern, Big Data, Digital, Data Warehousing and/or Enterprise Integration platforms (iPaaS)
    • Undefined


  • Functional Expertise:
    • MuleSoft or similar iPaaS, SalesForce, Composable Enterprise
    • Possess strong integration skills and a good understanding of a variety of different integration patterns, & protocols (REST, SOAP, JDBC, FTP, SFTP, FTPS, JMS etc)
    • Canonical Data/Service Models, Conceptual/Logical Modeling, Dimensional Modeling
    • DAMA, TOGAF certification preferred


  • Leadership:
    • Bold and problem solver - able to develop stretching and ambitious future vision
    • Fantastic communicator - able to articulate and sell the vision to senior stakeholders
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver integrated Business-IT strategy
    • Building International and cross functional relationships to drive engagement
    • 5 years' experience working with executive sponsors and senior business leadership teams developing and delivering strategy and operating plans with demonstrated competency
