We have a fantastic opportunity for a Weekend Shift Electrical Engineer to be based at Diageo Shieldhall!

Salary of £47,668.00, including shift allowance in addition to a competitive benefits package with pension, shares scheme and bonus.

About the role

As an Electrical Production Engineer, you'll play a vital role within our Packaging Line Craft team, bringing your technical expertise to keep high-speed packaging lines running safely, reliably, and efficiently. This is a hands-on role where your proactive attitude and problem-solving skills will make a real impact on performance, safety, and quality.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure operational excellence by supporting asset care and performing planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in line performance, safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Collaborate and mentor operators and team leaders in autonomous maintenance and fixing issues.
  • Lead with safety first, working in full compliance with lockout/tagout procedures and electrical standards.
  • Contribute to team success through improvement projects, effective shift handovers, and active participation in Tier meetings.

Shifts

As a Weekend Electrical Engineer, you will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday only.

We're looking for an experienced and dedicated electrical engineer who enjoys collaborating in an encouraging team setting. They must confidently handle the demands of a fast-paced, high-performing production. You bring a structured, solutions-focused approach to every challenge, with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence. Your ability to adapt and innovate makes you a trusted partner in delivering quality and safety at every stage.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Technical Expertise - Recognised apprenticeship or HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Systems Knowledge - Comfortable working with SAP and maintenance systems to ensure smooth operations.
  • Problem-Solving & Process Improvement - Structured approach to identifying issues and driving efficiency.
  • Industry Experience - Ideally FMCG or high-speed manufacturing, with strong understanding of asset care systems and compliance standards.
  • Multiskilled Approach - Electrical core with a willingness to broaden skills and embrace further development.
  • Safety & Quality Commitment - Dedicated to maintaining high standards in compliance and operational integrity.
