About the role:

The purpose of this role is to lead Customer Marketing as the coordination point between Marketing, Category / Channel Development, Sales, RGM, Commercial Planning, Supply and Customer teams. The role ensures that brand, category, shopper and customer strategies are translated into executable commercial choices, clear channel priorities, customer-ready plans and focused performance learning.

This role exists to make the LAC Commercial Blueprint customer-back, shopper-led and execution-first in practice. It ensures the market has one integrated commercial planning rhythm, connecting E2E Planning, IBP inputs, commercial calendar, innovation commercialization, activity prioritization and performance learning into a coherent plan that Sales can implement and the business can measure.

Customer Marketing agenda and planning priorities

Decides Customer Marketing priorities, planning cadence, functional focus areas and standards required to convert brand / category / shopper strategy into executable channel and customer plans.

Works with Commercial Director, Marketing, Sales, RGM, Commercial Planning, Supply and Finance. Advances trade-offs requiring investment reallocation, customer / channel conflict resolution or deviation from brand / market strategy.

Commercial plan readiness and execution standards

Recommends whether the commercial plan is ready for Sales execution, including clarity of growth drivers, channel priorities, activity calendar, innovation assumptions, execution standards and IBP inputs.

Must align with E2E Planning outputs, IBP assumptions, RGM guardrails, customer realities, service constraints and market priorities.

Functional & Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead the Customer Marketing agenda, connecting categories, brands, shoppers, channels, customers and Sales through one integrated commercial planning system.

• Govern the E2E Planning process through Category / Channel Development.

• Ensure Commercial Planning translates channel strategy into regional, customer and cycle plans.

• Connect innovation commercialization into the planning rhythm.

• Embed value creation into planning through RGM, trade investment, promotional efficiency, price-pack choices, customer profitability and M&E findings.

• Ensure Customer Experience inputs, including SAMBC, OTIF, SFA, Advantage feedback and customer friction points, are reflected in commercial planning.

• Lead through influence across Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply, RGM, distributors and agencies.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in Customer Marketing, Commercial Planning, Trade Marketing, Category Management, Commercial Excellence or Sales Strategy within FMCG or a similarly complex consumer business.
  • Demonstrated experience translating brand and category strategies into customer and channel execution plans.
  • Experience building or improving commercial planning processes, governance and ways of working, particularly in organizations undergoing transformation or capability development.
  • Experience developing reporting frameworks, critical metrics and performance reviews in environments where data systems and reporting capabilities are not fully mature.
  • Confirmed ability to consolidate data from multiple sources, identify commercial insights and translate them into clear business recommendations.
  • Experience working across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain and Revenue Growth Management to align priorities and deliver business outcomes.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives without direct people management responsibility.
  • Experience evaluating commercial performance, promotional efficiency and customer investment to drive continuous improvement
