About the role

The Corporate Relations Manager role exists to protect and strengthen Diageo's reputation, license to operate, Public trust and acceptance across the Middle East & North Africa - one of the most complex, sensitive, and high-growth operating environments globally.

Role Responsibilities

Communications Leadership

  • Own the internal communications rhythm for MENA, including townhalls, leadership updates, and employee engagement campaigns.
  • Draft and edit narratives, speeches, talking points, and strategic messages for senior leadership.
  • Oversee external communications within the regulatory and cultural constraints of the region.
  • Manage Diageo MENA's social media presence in collaboration with agencies, ensuring content is compliant, purposeful, and reputation-enhancing.
  • Develop editorial calendars and oversee creative production end-to-end.


Strategic Communications & Reputation Management
  • Owns internal and external communications across MENA within highly constrained regulatory and cultural boundaries
  • Exercises judgment on sensitive narratives, messaging, and engagement timing
  • Manages regional social media presence with direct reputational impact


ESG & Society 2030 Delivery
  • Leads delivery of Diageo's Society 2030 agenda as a licence-to-operate tool, not a CSR add-on
  • Manages complex partnerships with NGOs, academia, and community stakeholders
  • Tracks and reports ESG KPIs to regional and global leadership


Policy & External Affairs Support
  • Supports preparation for senior government and industry engagements
  • Monitors regulatory, political, and societal developments with direct business impact
  • Provides analysis that informs leadership decision-making in volatile environments


Employer Brand & Talent Positioning
  • Strengthens Diageo's employer brand in markets
  • Partners with HR to attract and retain talent in a challenging regional labour market
  • Represents the function internally and externally with credibility and sound judgment


Experience / skills required
  • 7-10 years of experience
  • Proven experience in Communications, ESG, Public Affairs, or similar roles in complex or regulated environments
  • Strong judgment and ability to operate independently in ambiguous contexts
  • Demonstrated capability in stakeholder influence without formal authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing agencies and external partners
  • High cultural intelligence and sensitivity
  • Problem solver & solution-based team player who can deal with ambiguity & adapt quickly
  • Proven ability to persuade, influence and build credibility with all levels and all functions.
  • Strong Analytical, persuasive selling, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
