About the team-

The Quality Lead function at Diageo sites is responsible for governing the Diageo Risk Standards of Quality all time and setting up the vision for progress in quality standards over the short, medium and long term. Primary responsibility being heading the site quality function for Quality Control, Quality Assurance and In-process quality.

About the role-

The role will need to operate within our SOA and be responsible for analysis and approval of Incoming and Outgoing products of site.

Defining the roadmap for progress of quality culture at site.

Enhancing food safety standards across the site operations.

Building the sitewide quality protocols.

As an Assistant Manager Quality, role is responsible for building the quality systems in accordance with GRMS guidelines, managing the indirect reports of the site for adhering necessary protocols of sampling, analysis, GMP, Food Safety, in-process analysis and finished product analysis.

Financial Accountability (Budget/Revenue)

Preparing annual quality budget for upkeeping, updating and maintaining the quality function assets for inspection, analysis and calibration.

Market / Function Complexity

India is a complex market governed by excise at each state along with FSSAI, Legal Metrology. Hence managing state specific requirements are essential.

Role Responsibilities-

• Responsible for customer satisfaction through implementing high quality standards in the product and the process.

• Responsible for working backwards to ascertain how to implement high quality in the product and the process to achieve consumer satisfaction.

• Responsible for maintaining and promoting quality in the factories, equipment, raw materials and finished goods.

• Responsible for Quality Assurance activities.

• Responsible for Quality Control and other control activities in the factories and material.

• Responsible for checking raw material used in production, packaging material and in process material and finished goods- accept or reject as per set quality standards.

• Responsible for designing the quality standards to be followed- of what is acceptable and what is not at the unit level and follow the same designed by HO.

• Assist in development of quality systems and communication to all the individuals and departments about the new system and take lead for the implementation of same at the unit level.

Responsible for approval of the packaging material and design at the unit level. • Device internal training for new recruits, introduce new systems in the unit.

• Undertake training and development of executives through interaction with the HR Dept.

• Initiate the process of Internal Audit for all procedures and systems.

• Obtain the ISO certification for the processes and products.

• Deal with the Government authorities with regards to regulations by excise, pollution board etc. and gain government approval.

• Ensuring that samples of all products are sent to the laboratory and are made fit for human consumption fit.

• Handle all complaints regarding quality of products and materials.

• Conduct frequent market research to understand and collate all information about the product and act on any issues with quality.

• Co-ordination with all the departments; difficult Often has to bear the brunt of failure of most departments Competencies Technical, must possess excellent knowledge about quality Behavioral

Experience / skills required -

Post Graduation in Food Technology/ Chemistry/Microbiology/Alcohol Technology/ Bio Chemistry.

• Minimum 4-6 Yrs quality functional experience.

• Certified Internal Auditor for Quality for ISO, FSSC and FSSAI.

• Auditing skills

• Strong communication skills in English (written & verbal)

• Problem solving skills

Success Criteria

Zero consumer compliant, zero NCs in audits and improved GMP and complying to Diageo Standards.
