About the Function:

About the role:
This role is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring the H&S and Environment policy and procedures for the Unit and adopting high standards and best practices in all aspects of the unit's operations, educating and building awareness and complying with applicable legislations, statutory and regulatory requirements with the objective of improving the Unit's Environment, Health and Safety performance .
Lead and manage EHS for the unit by ensuring legal compliance, regulator liaisoning, safe operations, environmental performance, waste-trLeatment operations, audits, Behavior Based Safety, Process Safety maturity, EHS pillar delivery in Manufacturing Excellence (Manex), EHS digitalization, Capex projects for EHS improvement, capability building and continual improvement in line with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, GRMS and company EHS requirements.
Direct Reports : - Unit Head
Indirect Reports : - Regional EHS & Corp EHS Head
OPERATING NETWORK:
WITHIN the Function Divisions/ Departments
- Trade Union, Production, Process, Manex, HR, Procurement, Commercial, F&A, Maintenance, Utilities, Quality HR, Manufacturing, Corp EHS/Regional EHS, EHS manager (other Diageo Units) .
OUTSIDE the Function External Interface
Government Bodies/Authorities, 'Vendors, Auditors.
TYPICAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification:
• BE (Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical)/MSc, Post graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety from Recognized Govt Institute or equivalent.
• Qualification in Environment and Process Safety will be preferred.
• Knowledge of local language would be of advantage
Experience:
• 3-5 years of overall relevant manufacturing operations experience
Key Scope Area
EHS legal requirements and compliance; Liaisoning with regulators; ETP/STP operations; waste management; zero waste to landfill; BRSR and ESG environment reporting; ISO 14001 and 45001; EHS audits; IAA audits; GRMS implementation; Manex EHS Pillar; behavior-based safety (BBS); process safety maturity including MOC, PHA and HAZOP; EHS digitalization; EHS Capex improvement projects; incident prevention and emergency readiness.
