Job Title: Apprentice Mechanical

About the role:

To assist qualified mechanical artisans with maintenance, installation, and repair of machinery while gaining practical experience and completing technical training toward becoming a qualified artisan.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist with installation and assembly of mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Help perform preventive maintenance on machines and mechanical systems.
  • Support technicians during machine breakdowns and repairs.
  • Assist with dismantling, repairing, and reassembling mechanical components.
  • Use tools and equipment such as spanners, grinders, drills, and measuring tools.
  • Help inspect machines to identify wear, damage, or mechanical faults.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical diagrams.
  • Lubricate and maintain gears, bearings, pumps, conveyors, and motors.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas according to safety regulations.
  • Follow workplace health and safety standards.


Experience / skills required:
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Mathematics and Physical Science (recommended)
  • N2-N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools
  • Ability to work in industrial environments
