Sr. Director, Product Delivery - Intelligent Automation & Backend

The Senior Director of Product Delivery is responsible for enterprise product strategy and portfolio-level investment direction across multiple products and capabilities. This role sets the strategic direction, defines enterprise investment themes, and establishes governance that ensures business vision is translated into coherent product priorities, portfolio roadmaps, and measurable value delivery. Operating at an enterprise level, this leader partners with executive stakeholders to shape enterprise priorities, to shape funding alignment and to drive transformation across people, process, and technology. The role provides single threaded accountability for enterprise product outcomes, from strategic intent through realized business outcomes, while empowering Product and Delivery leaders to own product-level roadmaps, backlogs, and execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Defines and evolves enterprise product strategy and portfolio-level strategic direction across multiple products and capabilities aligned to business vision and strategic priorities.
  • Shapes and governs enterprise product investment themes, funding alignment, trade-off decisions to ensure resources are focused on the highest value opportunities.
  • Ensures product strategy balances customer experience, operational efficiency, regulatory needs, and scalability, and drives alignment across leaders on enterprise-level priorities and sequencing.
  • Oversees execution of product strategies across the enterprise through strong partnership with Product, Technology, Design, and Business leaders.
  • Defines enterprise outcome metrics and portfolio success measures tied to growth, experience, efficiency, and cost management.
  • Monitors performance of product(s) and investments and ensures continuous portfolio-level course correction through Directors and Senior leaders based on data and insights.
  • Leads and develops Directors and senior leaders responsible for product strategy, product management, and delivery execution; Sets expectations and standards for how product leaders, plan, measure, and govern outcomes.
  • Builds a culture of accountability, transparency, and outcome driven decision making by establishing enterprise operating rhythms.
  • Acts as a trusted strategic advisor to executive leadership on enterprise product strategy, transformation priorities, investment decisions, and portfolio performance, providing clear direction and trade-offs.
  • Drives alignment across Business, Technology, and Product leadership to eliminate silos between strategy and execution, ensuring enterprise-level decisions translate to consistent product-level plans and outcomes.

  • Qualifications:

    • 12+ years w/Bachelor's degree; 3+ years management
    • Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of education or degree
    • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field • 10-15 years of experience in product mangement, business strategy, portfolio strategy or strategic transformation • 5+ years of experience leading senior leaders and operating within a scaled Agile environment and/or complex delivery ecosystem • Enterprise portfolio or capability strategy ownership across multiple domains and products • Experience maturing products and driving measurable enterprise business outcomes • Healthcare experience preferred
    • Strong customer focus and know-how to deliver exceptional experiences.

    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to clearly present written information and findings

    Base Pay Information

    The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
    Pay Grade 25. $140,700 - $305,000
