The Senior AI/ML Data Product Owner plays a pivotal role in driving the development, adoption, and governance of AI/ML solutions within the enterprise. This role bridges business strategy, data science, and engineering — owning the roadmap and execution of AI/ML projects that transform data into actionable intelligence. You will ensure that the platform delivers trusted, scalable, and governed AI outcomes while empowering data analysts, data scientists, and business users to collaborate effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Define and own the AI/ML roadmap and project/feature backlog that is aligned with the enterprise AI/ML strategy.
- Facilitate ideation, project intake, and own the prioritization of high-value AI/ML use cases, ensuring business alignment and technical feasibility. Agile PI and sprint planning via Jira.
- Translate business problems into AI/ML project requirements and user stories, ensuring clarity between business and technical teams.
- Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, analysts, and business leads to guide project execution within AI/ML platforms and workflows.
- Ensure clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders — translating model metrics and insights into business outcomes.
- Partner with Data Governance, ML Ops, and Risk teams to ensure AI/ML projects adhere to enterprise governance standards.
- Provide oversight of the end-to-end model lifecycle within AI/ML platforms to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Drive adoption and literacy of AI/ML platforms across analytics and business teams. Develop training and onboarding materials, champion user engagement, and cultivate an AI/ML community of practice.

Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience w/Bachelor's degree
- Experience in leading Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning programs and strong Product Ownership experience is required
- Comprehensive understanding of enterprise data programs and data governance principles
- Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies, processes, and tools (e.g., EPIC creation, sprint planning, backlog refinement)
- Knowledge of data analytics frameworks, KPIs, and performance metrics tracking
- Expertise in cross-functional team alignment and stakeholder collaboration
- Understanding of enterprise-wide communication strategies and tools for project updates and status reporting
- Excellent project and time management skills
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, including ability to create and deliver presentations to leadership and stakeholders
- Skillful at fostering cross-domain partnerships and building consensus among diverse teams
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to handle large volumes of data while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 22. $92,500 - $200,400
