Director Business Process Management

The Director, Business Process Management role is uniquely focused on driving enterprise‑wide process clarity, efficiency, and scalability across both internal teams and third‑party vendor partners. This position owns the design, optimization, and governance of end‑to‑end business processes-ensuring work flows seamlessly across functions and external providers. With accountability spanning BPM strategy, vendor coordination, and high‑priority special projects, this role plays a critical connective role in translating business strategy into repeatable, measurable operational outcomes while driving continuous improvement at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall direction, guidance and definition of business architecture to effectively support business strategy. Applies and utilizes business modeling methods to ensure results oriented deliverables in a way that can be recreated and used as a corporate knowledge resource available to project level initiatives as an executive decision making.
  • Oversees all of the Enterprise Initiative Advisory Council activities, Intake, and Capacity Planning roles and with interaction accountability for the wider enterprise stakeholder team
  • Acts as a business sponsor for acquiring, maintaining and upgrading strategic tooling for Intake and capacity planning
  • Understands process improvement initiatives and roadmaps. This includes work done by outside vendors/ consultants. Scans the organization's landscape for potential process improvement initiatives taking into account in-flight roadmaps.
  • Owns the BPM Transformation Roadmap across the enterprise. Owns and delivers end-to-end BPM initiatives on a turnkey basis for internal clients (using agile as well as traditional waterfall methodologies).
  • Partners with business and technology leadership to identify go forward Strategic BPM initiatives (may include a "true up" of the current roadmap) in alignment with business goals such as improved customer experience, efficiency and reduced time to market
  • Delivers quick-wins (Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Pilots) that showcase the value of streamlined, repeatable and efficient BPM processes
  • Acts as an internal BPM advisor/ consultant to train teams on the BPM framework / tools/ best practices. Helps drive towards and influence a culture of continuous process improvement.
  • Monitors KPIs/ Metrics before, during and after BPM process implementations and review strategic insights, dashboards and key communications with senior leadership on a frequent basis
  • Supports internal and external communications, assembling various dashboards and analyses, and coordinating the company-wide goals process, among several others.

  • Qualifications:

    • 12+ years w/Bachelor's degree; 3+ years management
    • Established BPM COEs in small, medium and large organizations
    • Core skills in organization, communications, project and program management, portfolio strategy/management, organizational change management, leadership and coaching.
    • Experience planning and managing multiple medium/high complexity programs, working with diverseproject sponsors across portfolios and business units
    • Must possess a strong understanding of the end to end DDC enterprise operating model
    • Strong business/functional acumen. High aptitude for working with technology experts.

    • Team oriented, self-starter, focused on the success of the team.
    • Ability to build relationships and partnerships, and able to deliver difficult news or messages; able to then leverage the strength of the team to rally behind options development and action
    • Strong emotional intelligence: Open to/seeks and integrates feedback. Able to identify and address underlying issues/objections and handle ahead of engagement with leadership or team members.
    • "Keeper of the pulse", ensures team has what it needs to be successful/helps understand and move impediments, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operational needs.

    Base Pay Information

    The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
    Pay Grade 24. $122,400 - $265,100
