Tax Senior
Position Summary
Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, New York.
Work You'll Do
Assist clients to balance compliance details and long-term tax strategies as well as understand national, state and local, and international tax structures and align tax functions with business objectives. Provide day-to-day client service relationships and serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that can help improve compliance with taxing entities while maintaining each client's overall tax risk profile. Work closely with clients and other members of the team to understand each organization's global goals and strategies and how industry and economic trends affect the business. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and flow-through clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Primary responsibilities include participating in complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, and researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and the tax implications of insurance, reinsurance, and investment related transactions for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Evaluate and deploy international tax planning for US based multi-national clients. Mentor and coach junior team members and escalate issues when necessary.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eighteen (18) months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.
Experience must include one (1) year of:
• preparing federal and state income tax returns for C-Corporations and Partnerships;
• preparing and reviewing Form 5471, Form 926, Form 1065, Form 1120, Form 1120L, and Form 8865 for U.S. investors;
• preparing and auditing quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740;
• applying tax compliance calculations to the preparation of returns for publicly traded companies and performing independent audits;
• performing analysis for FIN 48, effective tax rate reconciliation, and valuation allowance, and preparing tax deferred tax schedules and tax review memos to properly account for income taxes during the preparation of tax provisions for corporations;
• utilizing Excel and tax software to prepare federal, state, local, and international income tax returns, calculate estimated tax, and process filings and provisions;
• utilizing tax research tools including Bloomberg terminal, BNA, and CCH to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients and research complex tax issues;
• utilizing tax software, including OneSource and Corptax, to prepare and review federal, state, local, and international income tax returns, and calculate estimated tax and process filings;
• preparing quarterly estimated tax payments for corporations, and preparing schedules for federal and state income tax returns and state franchise tax; and
• assisting corporations in Internal Revenue Service and state tax examinations, responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs), and drafting response memos.
Other
Annual Salary: $81,620.00 - $151,580.00.
