This role centers on integrating political-military, interagency, and strategic communications perspectives into regional policy shaping-specifically aligning the Indo-Pacific Command's objectives with evolving U.S. national security priorities and emerging regional dynamics. The Advisor is a key driver of strategic initiatives impacting Taiwan and the broader Indo-Pacific, ensuring Command efforts are synchronized with U.S. national objectives, interagency directions, and resourcing priorities.

  • THQE Synchronization: Coordinate and synchronize Taiwan Headquarters Element (THQE) initiatives with broader directorate objectives, including Objectives, Activities, and Investments (OAIs) and interagency planning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain robust relationships with U.S. interagency partners (e.g., DOS, DOD components, intelligence community) to facilitate whole-of-government approaches to strategic challenges.
  • Analytical Assessment: Conduct and deliver timely analyses of political, military, and economic trends-emphasizing cross-Strait developments and implications for U.S. policy and regional stability.
  • Resource Advocacy: Support and advocate for appropriate allocation and prioritization of resources in support of THQE and related strategic initiatives.
  • Planning & Implementation: Drive assigned initiatives through planning, implementation, and completion in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams across the directorate, ensuring responsiveness and mission alignment.
  • Strategic Communications: Guide internal and external messaging to support the client objectives, crafting clear, actionable narratives for senior military and interagency leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements, innovation, and operational excellence within the directorate strategic planning and policy functions.
