As a Senior Manager and Solution Portfolio Manager within our Finance Transformation Tech Enablement team, you will own the product strategy, market sizing, competitive fit, and portfolio prioritization for the Finance Operate Platform. You will manage the intake pipeline from SME ideas and enablement capabilities through business case validation, making definitive go/no-go decisions at each stage gate. This is a strategic leadership role that shapes what gets built and why.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Manager - Solution Portfolio Manager on the Finance Transformation Tech Enablement team, you will be responsible for:

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy for the Finance Operate Platform across Controllership, Treasury, and FP&A sub-offerings.
  • Define and maintain the product roadmap, aligning technology investment priorities with Finance Transformation business objectives and market opportunity.
  • Conduct market sizing and competitive analysis to inform build-versus-buy decisions and partnership strategies.
  • Evaluate platform portfolio fit: which capabilities should be core builds, which should be alliances, and which should be deprioritized.

Intake & Business Case Management

  • Manage the intake pipeline from SME ideas, offering lead requests, and enablement capability gaps through structured stage-gate validation.
  • Define and enforce stage-gate criteria for idea progression: hypothesis validation, business case, prototype, MVP, and production readiness.
  • Lead business case development and value quantification for new platform capabilities, including cost-to-build, addressable market, and ROI projections.
  • Make go/no-go decisions at each stage gate in collaboration with Finance Operate offering leadership and Tech Enablement leadership.

Stakeholder Engagement & Prioritization

  • Partner with Finance Operate offering leads (Controllership, Treasury, FP&A) to capture demand signals and translate into prioritized product requirements.
  • Facilitate portfolio prioritization forums with senior stakeholders, balancing strategic value, urgency, resourcing constraints, and market timing.
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap updates, and investment decisions to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Build trusted-advisor relationships with Finance Transformation leadership and service line leads.

Team Collaboration

  • Partner with the Innovation Lead on validated idea progression through the incubation lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with AI/Automation Architect and Solution Architect on technical feasibility assessments and effort estimation.
  • Work closely with Governance & Standards Lead to ensure portfolio decisions align with quality and compliance requirements.

The team

Our Finance Operate offering provides ongoing operation of the Finance function as an extension of Deloitte's Finance Transformation Advise and Implement offering portfolio. The team works across finance strategy, process, operations, and technology to help organizations enable scalable finance outcomes. Professionals in this practice support delivery in complex environments while helping clients advance modernization across Finance Operate capabilities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in product management, strategy, consulting, or technology delivery, with at least 3 years in a senior product or portfolio leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing product portfolios, defining roadmaps, and making strategic go/no-go investment decisions.
  • Strong business acumen with proven ability to build business cases, conduct market analysis, and quantify value.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence senior leadership and navigate ambiguity.
  • Experience working in Finance, ERP, or enterprise software product contexts preferred; managing, creating, or implementing solutions/ products that support automation of finance functions such as Record to Report.
  • Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:

  • Background in Finance Transformation, Finance Operate, or related managed services delivery models.
  • Familiarity with AI/automation, workflow platforms (ServiceNow), and data/analytics technologies.
  • Product management certifications (Pragmatic Marketing, CSPO, CPO) or equivalent.
  • Experience with stage-gate innovation processes and portfolio management frameworks.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $163,000 to $322,100.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
