Lead Product Engineer / Architect
Position Summary
Deloitte Space is expanding flight-proven satellite cybersecurity capabilities and supporting managed services into the commercial space market. Building on flight heritage from Deloitte-1, this role will help scale cyber-resilient solutions for emerging space companies, satellite operators, primes, and large constellation operators.
The Lead Product Engineer / Architect will serve as the senior technical authority for the offering, working as a peer to the Lead Product Manager. This role will shape the technical vision, architecture, engineering standards, and delivery roadmap across cyber, software, hardware, AI, space, ground, and user segments. The ideal candidate can translate complex mission and security requirements into scalable, commercially viable solutions that can be deployed repeatably across clients.

Work you'll do
As a Lead Product Engineer / Architect on the Enterprise Security team, you will be responsible for:
- Own the target architecture, interfaces, trust boundaries, and design patterns across the space, ground, and user segments, with security by design embedded throughout.
- Serve as the senior technical authority for release readiness, engineering standards, and architecture decisions that protect system integrity and mission outcomes.
- Lead technical integration across cyber, software, hardware, artificial intelligence, and systems teams to drive implementation consistency and move capabilities from research into production.
- Productize solutions for repeatable deployment across client satellites, constellation profiles, and commercial space environments as the offering grows.
- Guide system-level testing and validation across integration, security, mission readiness, and operational acceptance, including failure analysis, root-cause resolution, and compliance-aligned delivery controls.

The team
Our Enterprise Security offering embeds security in all aspects of digital transformation by securing a client's technical backbone while enabling secure digital transformation. Includes security architecture, secure development and deployment, end-to-end cyber cloud capabilities, application security, and security for emerging technologies and connected products.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of experience as a product engineer, solution architect, systems architect, technical product leader, or similar role delivering cyber, aerospace, space, embedded, or mission-critical systems
- Experience delivering multidisciplinary cyber and/or space systems into production and operations
- Experience designing secure architectures across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and space/embedded environments
- Experience authoring reference architectures, design patterns, or platforms adopted by multiple teams and operating within National Institute of Standards and Technology, Authority to Operate, Security Technical Implementation Guide, or Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification compliance requirements
- Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

Preferred:
- Experience taking a product or platform to market through pilots, co-development, or first-of-kind deployments with external clients
- Experience with satellite mission operations or aerospace delivery environments
- Experience with embedded and real-time systems integration
- Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning model deployment pipelines in constrained environments
- Experience with Space Attack Research and Tactic Analysis threat frameworks
- Active security clearance at the Secret level or higher
