In this role, you will use your accounting, finance, and technology experience to help clients address evolving business and regulatory demands, improve operational performance, and deploy innovative digital solutions that support enterprise-wide transformation.

Work you'll do

As a Digital Controllership Manager, you will leverage accounting and finance knowledge, digital finance capabilities, and enabling technologies to help clients address complex and evolving business and regulatory needs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support CFOs, Controllers, and Finance Executives in delivering innovative, technology-enabled solutions that help clients:

  • Enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Mitigate risk and optimize costs
  • Accelerate enterprise performance through value-added finance capabilities

Key responsibilities include:

Client delivery and relationship management

  • Identify core business challenges and manage day-to-day client and internal relationships
  • Lead engagement planning and budgeting, including deliverable structuring, economic modeling, risk management, and timeline oversight
  • Manage workstreams and support high-quality, timely delivery of client outcomes

Finance and technology solutions

  • Apply accounting, regulatory, and cost accounting knowledge across a variety of industries and business environments
  • Implement and optimize Tier 1 digital core technologies such as SAP, Workday, and Oracle
  • Drive finance and accounting ERP module implementation and integration with complementary applications

Data architecture and analytics

  • Design and develop accounting data models and rules engines to support high-quality, accessible financial information
  • Lead efforts to map and transition finance data models to new frameworks using Deloitte tools and methodologies
  • Apply data analytics, quantitative modeling, and rules-based approaches to generate insights across financial, regulatory, forensic, and transactional contexts

Solution design and deployment

  • Gather and define requirements, support solution design, develop prototypes, conduct testing, and facilitate training
  • Deploy automation, cognitive, and machine learning-enabled solutions to improve business performance

Growth and innovation

  • Bring innovative thinking that challenges conventional approaches and embraces emerging technologies
  • Support proposal development and market-facing pursuits
  • Contribute to training, coaching, and talent development efforts

The team

Deloitte's Controllership and Treasury Transformation offering helps modernize the finance function to align with evolving business objectives. We work with CFOs, CAOs, controllers, and treasurers to build efficient, high-quality, data-driven, and technology-enabled controllership and treasury organizations. Our work helps clients deliver greater value to business partners, leadership teams, and investors.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of direct technical, advisory, or industry experience in one or more of the following:
    • Entity and enterprise accounting
    • Technical accounting or controllership
    • Financial planning and analysis
    • Cost accounting
  • Hands-on experience implementing, optimizing, or administering financial and data applications/platforms, including one or more of the following:
    • SAP (ERP, Performance and Profitability Management, PCM, PaPM)
    • Oracle (ERP, PCM)
    • Workday
    • Workiva
    • BlackLine
    • Alteryx
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Tableau
    • Power BI
  • Experience managing full lifecycle implementations, including requirements gathering, business process mapping, deployment, and support
  • Experience with ERP, finance analytics, or related finance boundary applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience gathering project requirements, defining business needs, and mapping business processes
  • Demonstrated people management experience, including supervising teams and managing day-to-day operations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Business, Information Systems, Accounting, or Finance
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CFA, CA, CCA, CMA, CAIA, or FRM, or active progress toward certification
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, SEC regulations, and cost/profitability analysis
  • Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and dynamic environments
  • Experience with advanced analytics, reporting, or programming tools, including:
    • Hadoop, Hive, Pig, or Impala
    • Business Objects or Reporting Services
    • Python, Mahout, or CognitiveScale
    • QlikView, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Experience configuring and implementing finance or accounting software applications
  • Project management experience using formal methodologies
  • Experience with root cause analysis, financial modeling, and value mapping
  • Workstream leadership experience across finance functional areas such as Record-to-Report and Order-to-Cash
  • Experience supporting training and talent development
  • Proposal and business development experience

Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions.

The expected wage range for this role in the United States is $141,200 to $278,300. This range is a reasonable estimate of the current range for this position and does not typically reflect geographic differentials. Compensation decisions are based on factors such as skill set, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
