Work You'll Do
As a Digital Controllership Manager you'll leverage advanced accounting and finance expertise alongside cutting-edge financial applications and analytical tools to drive real business value, addressing complex and evolving business and regulatory needs.
You'll collaborate with talented colleagues to support CFOs, Controllers, and Finance Executives in delivering service excellence and creative digital solutions to help clients:
- Enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness

- Accelerate enterprise performance through innovative, value-added capabilities
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Relationship Management
- Identify core business challenges and manage day-to-day client and internal relationships.
- Lead engagement planning and budgeting, including deliverable structuring, economic modeling, risk management, and timeline oversight.
Finance & Technology Solutions
- Apply specialized accounting, regulatory, and cost accounting standards across a variety of industry domains.
- Implement and optimize Tier 1 Digital Core technologies (e.g., SAP, Workday, Oracle) to address client needs.
- Drive finance and accounting ERP module implementation and integration with complementary applications.
Data Architecture & Analytics
- Design and develop accounting data models and rules engines for high-quality, accessible financial information.
- Lead efforts to map and transition existing finance data models to new frameworks using proprietary Deloitte tools and methodologies.
- Harness data analytics, quantitative modeling, and rules-based methodologies to uncover insights in financial, regulatory, forensic, and transactional contexts.
Solution Design & Deployment
- Define requirements, design prototypes, conduct testing, and facilitate training and support for digital finance solutions.
- Deploy automation, cognitive, and machine learning solutions to enhance client business performance.
Growth & Innovation
- Contribute innovative ideas that challenge conventional approaches, embracing new digital technologies.
- Support proposal development and market-facing pursuits.
- Participate in training and talent development within your area of expertise.
The team
Our Controllership and Treasury Transformation offering modernizes the finance function to align with the evolving business objectives of organizations. We collaborate with CFOs, CAOs, controllers, and treasurers to develop an efficient, high-quality, data-driven, and tech-enabled controllership and treasury function. This empowers our clients to deliver greater value to their business partners and investors.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Technology, Business, Math/Engineering)
- 6+ years of direct technical or advisory experience in:
- Entity and enterprise accounting
- Technical accounting or controllership
- Financial planning & analysis
- Cost accounting
- Hands-on experience implementing, optimizing, or administrating financial and data applications/platforms, including but not limited to:
- SAP (ERP, Performance & Profitability Management, PCM, PaPM)
- Oracle (ERP, PCM)
- Workday, Workiva, BlackLine, Alteryx
- Microsoft SQL Server, Tableau, PowerBI
- Proven experience managing full lifecycle implementations:
- Requirements gathering, business process mapping, deployment
- Use of ERP or finance analytics solutions (e.g., Workiva, Blackline) or equivalent boundary platforms
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience in project requirements gathering, definition, and business process mapping
- Demonstrated direct people management experience, supervising and managing team operations
- Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities and deadlines in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Ability to travel up to 50% as required by client/project needs

- Professional certification, such as CPA, CIA, CFA, CA, CCA, CMA, CAIA, or FRM (or active pursuit of one)
- Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, SEC regulations, cost/profitability analysis
- Experience with advanced analytics or programming, including but not limited to:
- Big Data tools (Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Impala)
- Reporting tools (Business Objects, Reporting Services)
- Machine learning/cognitive (Python, Mahout, CognitiveScale)
- Data visualization tools (QlikView, Tableau, PowerBI)
- Experience in configuration and implementation of finance/accounting software applications
- Project management experience using formal methodologies
- Project experience in root cause analysis, financial modeling, value mapping
- Workstream leadership experience in finance functional areas (Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash)
- History of supporting training and talent development
- Proposal and business development experience

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144,200 - $265,600.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
