Work You'll Do
As a Defense Cyber Operations Engineer SME on our Enterprise Security team, you will be responsible for...
- Leading engineers across complex Defensive Cyber Operations assignments and aligning team members toward mission objectives and deliverables
- Developing and refining Defensive Cyber Operations methodologies and presenting solutions to cyber defense and technical implementation challenges
- Assessing cyber key terrain to understand mission requirements, system architecture, and associated threats, and advising on defensive architecture and technologies
- Designing, implementing, configuring, tuning, and adapting cyber defensive capabilities to protect, detect, and respond to cyber threats and attacks
- Authoring and maintaining documentation such as standard operating procedures, checklists, implementation guides, architecture diagrams, and crew binders to support Defensive Cyber Operations

Includes security architecture, secure development and deployment, end-to-end cyber cloud capabilities, application security, and security for emerging technologies and connected products.
The Project Delivery Talent Model is designed for professionals with specialized skills that align to a current client need. Team members focus on delivering services to clients, without additional expectations related to business development or promotion. Their employment is tied to their role on a project, and they are eligible for a benefits package that is competitive for project delivery-focused professionals.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
- 3+ years of professional technical experience in cyber defense, cybersecurity, engineering, networking, systems integration, or technology solutions
- Experience in at least 2 of the following areas: containers or virtual environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, or Amazon Web Services; network traffic collection and aggregation platforms such as Gigamon; data storage solutions such as Network File System, Ceph, or distributed storage; data analysis platforms such as Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, or Splunk; Agile software development frameworks; Linux operating systems such as Red Hat or Kali; Windows operating systems; network infrastructure; or security applications such as Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response, Security Information and Event Management, or Intrusion Detection Systems
- Experience supporting cyber defense architecture, threat detection, incident response, or security operations
- Experience authoring technical documentation such as standard operating procedures, implementation guides, or architecture diagrams
- Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal environments
- Experience assessing mission systems, architecture, and cyber threat activity
- Experience advising on the technical design and implementation of cyber defensive capabilities
- Experience with security engineering across enterprise or mission-focused environments
- Experience leading technical workstreams or teams on cyber defense efforts
- Prior experience working on a Cyber Protection Team.
- Systems administration experience.
