Work you'll do

As a Project Manager, you will work within our Tax Operate team which is responsible for digital transformation of our tax practice, as well as support for client transformations technology. You will collaborate across the team driving key projects to transform our global business and our clients' businesses. You will own the project(s) including: driving teams to meet defined milestones and deliverables, development and management of a work plan, managing program status, risk and issue reporting, managing project scope, governance and stakeholder engagement, and vendor management. Detail responsibilities include:

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) to ensure delivery within scope, budget and resources escalating to program lead as needed.
  • Ensure Deloitte technology is fully utilized on engagements, including utilization of AI roadmap.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s).
  • Submit project status reports to stakeholders; review risks, issues and define mitigation plans; anticipate and react to change.
  • Manage interaction between clients and internal program delivery teams to provide adequate visibility of interdependent initiatives and programs.
  • Engage governance group(s) to ensure stakeholders are well informed and engaged to drive program success.
  • Support and create other management reporting as required by the Program leadership.
  • Manage escalation and resolution of risks and issues according to the defined standards or governance across the program and mitigate potential risk factors that have a material impact on the cost, scope, or timeline of the program.
  • Manage the Integrated work-plan and track appropriate reporting on progress against plan for the milestones in the work-plan.

At Deloitte Tax LLP, our Tax Operate practice helps large multinational clients design and implement an operating model that helps them accomplish their future vision. Our consultants help transition, set-up technology, run labs, and streamline business operations while managing the scalability, risks, and costs of outsourcing engagements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week.
  • 8+ years of experience working on tax or technology projects and/or strategic initiatives within a large, matrixed, and complex organization.
  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in accounting, business administration, management information system, or related field.
  • Experience with tax related concepts and knowledge of tax return implementations.
  • Experience developing executive communications, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained:
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
      • If not CPA eligible:
        • Licensed Attorney
        • Enrolled Agent
        • Certifications:
          • Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
          • Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
          • Project Management Professional (PMP)

Preferred:

  • Previous Big 4 or major consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of tax accounting systems and related technology, as well as understanding of tax issues and tax terminology.
  • Experience with corporate tax compliance and knowledge or experience of agile methodologies.
  • Proven strategic and logical thinker with the ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of others and develop relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clarity and precision in both written and verbal capacities.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $119,000 to $221,200.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
